The press was great for Perhaps, he has goodwill with the media, The General would have been heralded because of the child abuse aspect. Whoever is making these decisions needs to step back and get someone in there who has an actual plan and knows how to execute it.
The leaks were the only good thing that came from this. They screwed up every step of this process. They can blame the vinyl plant, but these songs should never have been released like this to begin with
Has it been confirmed Monsters is on the vinyl too?
No.

You and I both know which group is responsible for this. It’s funny because the part about dumping this as a B side is just tone deafness on them understanding their fanbase, especially the hardcore portion, which they revile.

The only confirmation is the name “General and Monsters”, and Fernando’s little quip about General being a monster. You know, because everything needs to be vague and a secret for “reasons”

If you wanted to quickly and quietly start wrapping up the Chinese saga without releasing an album...this is exactly how you would do it.
They could have easily just added crap like Eye On You or some other throwaway as a B side. Nobody but hardcores care about B sides to already dead singles.
Instead we get two big guns for the price of one.
How often are they that generous?

The idea of releasing these songs under the cloak of midnight is ridiculous. Firstly, they're prostituting New Gn'R's work in the press and on their own marketing ("first song in 20 years", etc.) and secondly, by yours and others own admission, no one cares. This isn't going to create some giant egg on their face moment or affect ticket sales. It's purely giving something to your most loyal fans who likely are going to buy it come hell or high water.
This all could've been done and dusted years ago. Reach an agreement with New Gn'R members, drop an EP of 2 CD leftovers and 2 live tracks every leg, and repeat. Hold back the most commercial songs for lead singles for new tours and repeat.
But as Dave said, this band is managed by the pool boy whose chief duty is massaging the ego of the boy prince.

The reason why no one cares is bc it does not sound like AFD Gnr. Its just Slash and Duffs take on the CD era stuff
Until they all actualy write new stuff together that sounds like classic GNR, no one will care.

They will never sound like AFD again, and that's OK
