This thread went downhill pretty quickly.  I don't think of Bro-mero as a basher by any means, and I didn't think he said anything worth being banned over.  I thought at least one other person was far worse than he was in this thread.

Well he threatened Russ to ban him....wish granted

Metallex I would always say watch something in full context as opposed to bits n pieces is easy to make someone look good or bad depending on how u wanna edit it....at least it's an informed decision... That's my opinion

Dunno if that was aimed at me Neemo, but I'm not forcing myself to watch anything. I love GN'R, as we all do here, so when GN'R play somewhere NEW like this Bridge School thing, of course I wanna check it out.

But if we're disappointed by what we see and hear, from a band we love, of course we're gonna vent about it.

But I really doubt anyone here wants them to fail.
The fact that we may see them doing badly, is what makes it that much more disheartening.

You have no clue, Adele is a way better singer than axl, and Axls range is way more than hers (Axl is like what 4 maybe 5 vs Adele being a 3).  Adele is one of the best singers in the world and doesnt have the range of Axl.

You have no clue.

I understand the distinction between range and vocal tone or quality. I'm not arguing that. But, to say that range has nothing to do with singing, when it is something that can be broadened with vocal exercises, i.e. singing, is absurd.

Ali

What I am saying is vocal range has nothing to do with who sounds better as a singer.  Someone with less range can sound way better than someone with a massive range.

Like I said Adele is a better singer and sounds better than Axl in his prime but Axl has a better range than her.

as you age your voice changes....it happens all the time axl is trying to sing like he did when he was 28, maybe he needs to adjust? maybe he just wants to keep doin what he is is doin

Vince neil (the times i have seen him live he has had a tough time, but i've just seen his solo act not crue
steven tyler sounds like crap compared to the 90's but he is older, at least on the recordings i have heard fromt he last couple albums, i havent seen any live footage from areosmith in ages
robert [plant had zeppelin retranspose everything down so he could hit the notes when they did their reunion crap)
hetfeild sounds different in recent years compared to the 90's
mick jagger is another who sounds different

shit happens man, body's change when they get old

hell maybe if gnr changed the tuning oftheir guitars from eb to d or up to e we would even have this discussion

as for davegnfr, you've been a whiny bitch for years and the only time i see you log in is to complain so dont play the "woe is me, i'm disappointed, not negative" card

anyway off to watch the gig

There are plenty of older singers (over 50) who still sound good, the reason axl doesnt is because he doesnt PRACTICE. If he did he could sound good.

As for me complaining the past few years, that is because axl has not dont shit to praise.

He will disappear like he always does,f then come back, I will give him another chance and he will be a disaster, so I give up again.

There is always hope one day that Axl will get his shit together but I guess not.

U said u watched "clips" of the fuckups, I was just saying watch the whole song....it wasn't totally bad IMO, like 20 seconds of bad out of a 5 min song

Whatever, I'm just posting my opinion is all, take it however u want 19

Tbh though if gnr comes around me again I will prolly skip it, I've seen them like 6 times now, but I think Axl's still a hell of a vocalist I don't care what u fucking guys think lol

And it's a lot harder to sing upper register than it is to do monotone vedder type vocals, though Eddie is a hell of a singer too, it's just not as a demanding of a style as Axl's  is

Yeah, I'll check out the full performance.
So far I've watched a few on youtube.

Patience was ok.

I thought Better sounded terrible, mostly because I don't think it really works as an acoustic song, regardless of the vocals, which didn't sound too good either.

Will check out You're Crazy next, if you think it sounded good.

Do u know Axl's practice regime for sure? We don't know, at least I don't, and I don't pretend to

Really wish Axl stuck with the lower register, he'd kill it!

Haven't watched better yet, so I can't comment...but I haven't been fond of the live performances of that track for a few years, jungle has its moments it's not super fantastic, but its not a total write-off either, I don't think it translates well to acoustic personally

Adele is one of the best singers in the world.  And axl has not practice regime.  If he did he would sound a lot better than that. And when ever the band members talk about practice Axl is never there. It was like that in the 90s too.  Axl never practiced EVER since the UYI days
