I met Vanilla Ice in the airport in Salt Lake once. Hilarious. I was at the check in counter at my gate and he walks up "Hey buddy is there a news stand around here" I looked at him and said  "Yeah man right behind you"  He looked behind him and kinda smirked at how obvious it was. He then says "Cool thanks bro" and  gives me that quick highfive/hand shake.  I just looked at my buddy and said "That was Vanilla Ice" and he just said "yeah I know" and my last word on it was "Fucking weird"  16

I know Prince doesn't give autographs due to his religion, so i missed a once in a lifetime opportunity during his Musicology tour.

I went to the after party he was at and my friend and I went outside to get some air. we were standing by a light pole decked out in our Prince gear *I wore my super rare Prince Symbol Necklace in full view*

anyhow, Prince popped out of a side door at the club to get to his limo and we were literally 8-10 feet away, no body guards, no fans around,  nothing. I could've walked right up.... but being such a huge fan and knowing his feelings on certain things,I didn't.  He looked over at us as he was walking and we waved and he looked at us, smiled and nodded.

for me, that was worth more than being an invasive douche and charging at him.

It's actually a really good photo. Yeah Jerry is one of those rare guys that I probably would go ahead and ask for the photo.

It's weird. Like I wouldn't ask most, but I would ask Jerry. But if I met Axl, I wouldn't ask Axl. But if I met Slash, i'd probably ask Slash. But if I met Izzy, I wouldn't.

If I met ANYONE from Motley Crue, i'd probably be the one refusing photos. Meeting Nikki or Mick would be cool, but if I saw Vince or Tommy, i'd keep right on walking, short of a "hey man, what up".

It's complicated. 16

It's funny you mention the "walking Hey man, what up" because that happened with Rob Zombie about 2 minutes after the above photo was taken!

We'd just finished with my buddy and his wife bothering the shit out of Cantrell and when we walked away, here comes Rob Zombie walking toward us! He was talking to a friend but we made eye contact so I just gave a head nod and he said "What up". When we got about 20 feet or so apart, I turned but kept walking and said "Can't wait for 'Rejects' man!" and he turned over his shoulder and said "I hope you'll like it!"

My buddies wife was like "WHO WAS THAT?! WHO WAS THAT?!" and since we were far enough apart, I kept acting like I didn't hear her until we got out to the cab stand and I said "Oh, that was Rob Zombie".

I waited that long because if I'd said something inside, she would've ran to bother him and I didn't want that for two reasons. One, if he wanted to stop to talk to fans, he would've. And two because if she was a fan, she should've known who it was without having to be told. No need to run and bother someone because you were told they were famous.

Funny side point, that I just now remembered; we all went to Vegas about 8 years ago for that same couple to get their vows renewed. We all ran into Tommy Lee at that exact same place (The Hard Rock Casino) and she got a picture with her in her wedding dress. Tommy Lee kissed her on the cheek during the photo and I joked about how she needed to scrub that check clean ASAP! 16

what an awesome fucking story!!
