Re: Beastie Boys Discussion
I had no idea MCA was so sick until I went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction in Cleveland. I did a little research to find out why Adam wasn't going to be there and the information was mixed. I read that he had cancer but was now cancer free in one article. In another I read that he denied that but said that he hoped to be cancer free soon. So I thought he was on the road to recovery. Sadly, that wasn't the case.
RIP
The New York Mets did a nice thing to pay tribute to Adam last night in their home game against the D-backs.

NY Mets pay tribute to Adam Yauch - MCA of The Beastie Boys - at Citi Field vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
Adam Yauch was many things — MCA in the Beastie Boys, human-rights activist, Occupy Wall Street participant and Buddhist among them. But the rapper, who died of cancer on Friday at age 47, was also a Brooklynite and sports fan.
During Friday’s game against Arizona, the Mets paid tribute to the New York music icon by playing Beasties music when they walked up to the plate. The idea was hatched and spearheaded by infielder Justin Turner and outfielder Scott Hairston.
David Wright, who usually walks up to the Beasties “Sabotage,” used “Brass Monkey” on Friday.
The remainder of the selections were: Ruben Tejada: “Intergalactic”; Daniel Murphy: “No Sleep Till Brooklyn”; Lucas Duda: “The New Style”; Hairston: “Root Down”; Ike Davis: “Fight For Your Right (To Party)”; Andres Torres: “So What’cha Want”; Josh Thole: “Make Some Noise”; Dillon Gee: “Body Movin.’”
