RIP MCA!!! I feel like busting out some Beastie Boys on spotify or on my ipod in a little while! Sad news! He was one of the guys to truly bring hip hop into the mainstream culture. I can't imagine how the boys are feeling right now. I'll keep them in my thoughts and prayers.

I was never a big fan of the Beastie Boys, their music just wasn't my thing. I liked a few songs but that's about it. They were one of those bands that was always just there though and as muchas they weren't my cup fo tea they did a huge aount of for the genre. They were cool and they were a big part of my generation growing up. It's sad news for sure and in a selfish way it makes me reflect on my own mortality as artists from my generation are now starting to pass away on a much more regular basis. This just makes it even more shocking that all members of Gn'R past are still alive and kicking and for the most part thriving.
