Last time my mac crashed? Maybe a year ago. Can't remember.
I'm on a 5 year old PC desktop that's been running XP since day one and I've only formatted once (by choice, too, I might add). I've never had any issues with it. Sometimes it doesn't reboot properly, but other than that it's solid.
My laptop's almost a year old and it runs Vista. I haven't had any problems with that either, and I even let automatic updates run through and everything. I don't know if I'm lucky when it comes to computers but I'm a bit of a nerd so when I say I haven't had problems it's likely because I take my time and try to solve them before things get out of hand.
Meanwhile, I don't think any of the hardware issues listed above have anything to do with operating systems.

ditto...other than that weird thing going on with my HardDrive i;ve had no problems in a long time
also i may add that this HD is a 40 gig so its a few years old as well...its also a dell so its prolly reached its life expectancy and is about ready to go kapput...but its a good thing i got an 80 Gig HD that's only a year old as my backup drive
