The DVD player on my laptop isn't working. When I put a disc in(whether a DVD or CD), it just clicks a few times and then does nothing. I'm probably gonna have to send this back. I can always watch DVDs on my TV, but I prefer watching movies on my comp.

First thing is to see if it's a problem with the computer or DVD/CD ROM drive itself.  Do that by checking the device manager in control panel and seeing if it assumes the drive is working properly.  If it says it is, try a DVD cleaner kit.  You can pick one of those up at Walmart or Best Buy for like $5.  If that doesn't work, it's probably fucked.

I have a new laptop with Vista and I've had nothing but issues with it.  I've had to bring it back to factory settings twice in less than 6 months.

The only mac I want comes with cheese.  The world isn't mac-compatible. 13

I've had Vista since October and have had no problems with it. It's crashed or froze a couple of times but only when I've possibly had too many programs running at once.

This morning I restored it back to the factory default settings, losing EVERYTHING. Still doesn't work. I'm gonna take it back tomorrow and get a new one.

Heavan will be. So you should get your practice in now.

Depending on what you need your computer for, macs are perfect. If you need to do work at home, in some professions, yea, macs won't get the job done. But if you have a computer used for leisure and communication, macs are far superior in just about every way.

Last time my mac crashed? Maybe a year ago. Can't remember.
