Sorry, you must be confused with Anything Goes or something. Those lyrics are so far away from hair metal I can think of. It's about being an individual and respecting each others as equals.

If a comparison has to be made it should be Dylan, not Vince Neill.

agree....Don't Damn Me has great lyrics. The guitars and bass are huge too. Killer song in my opinion.

It's redneck deep, but it's still deep. Hair metal is the rock n roll version of Rhianna.

Or "Labyrinth"...

Obscure reference. 2 points to the one who gets it.

I would like to know the exact titles of all those songs. My best guess is that we pretty much got everything that was usable at the time. I am quite sure there are no unused songs in the vaults from the UYI sessions that were completed, finished tracks with vocals.

nah, that stanza is the kinda crap fred durst woulda spewed.
DDM is a weird one, Axlin is ot$ when he says it's a mixed bag - like he what he quotes is amongst the worst things axl has committed to tape but paradoxically it also has some brilliant lyrics & an amazing delivery & of course possibly the best GnR solo outside of Nightrain

it really typifies the brutal honesty at the core of axl's work - some of it veers perilously close to cheese but mostly it's shockingly accurate

Trash collected by the eyes/ & dumped into the brain/Said it tears into our conscious thoughts

Don't Damn Me to me is a case where those who felt GN'R should featured more 'instrumentals' like Metallica, could use an example.

The song is BAD ASS sans Axl. Same thing for Get In The Ring & Shotgun Blues. Instrumentally they're fuckin' awesome.
