A press release issued by the POISON camp on Monday indicated that the Bret Michaels-fronted glam rockers and MÖTLEY CRÜE would "co-headline" the tour.

MÖTLEY CRÜE frontman Vince Neil was asked during a November 19, 2010 appearance on the "Elliot In The Morning" radio talk show about POISON singer Bret Michaels' onstage claim that POISON and MÖTLEY CRÜE would celebrate their 25th and 30th anniversaries, respectively, this year by joining forces for a North American trek. "I don't know why Bret would say that," Neil said. "And I hadn't heard about it. People were asking me, and I'm going, 'I never heard that in my life.' And I was getting a lot of Twitters about it. I finally just called my office and said, 'What is up with this?' I was kind of pissed that nobody told me. And they go, 'Look, we have no idea. There was never anything like that [being considered] or that was even being talked about.' But the funny thing is, ever since [Bret] did that and now people are talking about it, crazier things have happened. It could happen. Because you have promoters out there going, 'Hmmm…. Yeah, maybe. Yeah, that sounds like a great package.' You know what I mean?!"

When reporters recently asked Bret Michaels if there was any bad blood between the bands, Michaels laughed: "There may be some friendly competition but there is no bad blood at all on my part. Nikki [Sixx, MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist] and I have spoken several times on the phone recently and the conversations went great." Michaels continued, "Music is a universal language and I am extremely excited that this tour has come together as are the fans, they are truly going to see a great show. Honestly, I could care less about all the mudslinging, it gets nobody nowhere, and after all I have been through health wise in the last year, I am going to try to focus on what does matter which is the show, the fans, fun and personally throwing a hell of a backstage party."

I look forward to seeing this show.  I've never seen The Crue live before, so it should be a good time.  Despite Vince Neil being far from his prime condition and Mick Mars barely able to move, I'm sure it'll still be fun.

Tracii Guns questions Nikki Sixx's spine!
Monday, 07 March 2011

An early BOD line up, Crabby Tracii & Sixx across the front.

LA Guns main man Tracii Guns has taken a pop at Motley Crue bassist and former Brides of Destruction band mate Nikki Sixx after he blamed Guns’ ego for the demise of the supergroup.

Sixx was asked what happend to the Brides on his official Facebook page and replied simply with three word – ‘Tracii Guns’ ego’.

And Guns has hit back on his own Facebook page with a dig back at Motley Crue’s recently announced tour with Poison.
He wrote:

“So Nikki just wrapped up BOD in a nutshell. Of course he is a completely innocent man. God bless you Nikki! I had one of the best times of my life with that band, only good memories for me.

“I am proud of you for having that strong spine! Say hello to the friends I used to have in Poison.”

Tracii has always been a legend in his own mind. So much to the point it's drove away just about every friend he used to have back in the 80's.

POISON's BRET MICHAELS On Touring With MÖTLEY CRÜE: 'It Doesn't Have To Be A Lovefest' - Mar. 12, 2011
POISON frontman Bret Michaels recently spoke to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette about his band's upcoming tour with MÖTLEY CRÜE and NEW YORK DOLLS.

When asked how the tour came about, Michaels said, "Very simple. I was going out solo this year. I have a brand new tour and CD, Bret Michaels 'Get Your Rock On'. I was going out solo and we're going to do a couple dates with POISON for our 25th anniversary. Well, I mentioned at a couple venues that I thought it would be great if MÖTLEY and POISON toured together for our 25th and 30th anniversaries. And I took a lot of flack [laughs] from certain members of MÖTLEY CRÜE, who vowed they were never going to do it. Well, here we are doing it. I look at everything I do as a music fan. I think MÖTLEY and POISON touring together is going to be an amazing summer tour. The bottom line is, all that matter is that we have a good time and the fans get completely rocked."

Regarding what the relationship has been like between MÖTLEY CRÜE and POISON over the years, Michaels said, "Here's the funniest thing. Vince has toured with POISON many times solo. We get along great. As far as MÖTLEY and POISON, there hasn't been much of a connection. This is the first time we've ever done a tour together. I know over the years that MÖTLEY has a certain way they want to brand themselves or want themselves to be seen. With POISON, we just want to go out to play for fans and the people who show up. If there's going to be a friendly competition as far as wanting to go out and put on a great show, absolutely. As far as saying anything bad about them, I just don't. As far as getting along, I'm not around them enough to know or really care how they feel. Even if they like POISON or don't like me, I'm playing to fans who show up. It doesn't have to be a lovefest between our two bands. I don't want the fans to be separated. MÖTLEY fans are POISON fans are rock fans. Music is a universal language. Look, I've toured with DEF LEPPARD, LYNYRD SKYNYRD, ALICE IN CHAINS, you name it, KISS, and we've always had great time. I think the bottom line, MÖTLEY probably made a couple bold statements in the press that were probably unnecessary, and I think the bottom line is, it all came around to us going and out and playing to a lot of fans, and I think it will be the tour of the summer. I know I'm going out there to have a good time after all I've been through."

I think Tommy & Nikki specifically are the heels here. Somebody told them once upon a time that they were bad ass rockers... apparently they didn't see the video for Home Sweet Home or Girls, Girls, Girls... songs that could EASILY be Poison songs. I'd go so far to say Poison's ballads have more of a rocker edge than Crue's.

I know everyone talks up Crack A Smile, like it's Poison's defining album, but I don't even see why people go there, like they have to. Look What The Cat Dragged In and Flesh + Blood are BOTH very good ALBUMS, and could rival Crue's best albums.

The thing with Poison, and something I always thought they did better than Crue, is that Poison does make actual ALBUMS. Crue only do it every so often. Crue's 'albums' to me was Too Fast For Love, Shout At The Devil, Feelgood & Crue '94. The rest have simply just been 'singles' albums.
