Half of the guest vocalists on Slash's solo album put out more memorable performances than Myles.

I guess it's a taste thing.

To me the best tracks on the album (not in any order)

*Ghost
*Beautiful Dangerous
*Back From Cali
*Starlight
*By the Sword
*Dr Alibi
*Baby Can't Drive

So we know that Ian, Alice, and Lemmy arn't about to work with slash full time. Fergie rocks in a rock context but I don't like female singers fronting rock overall - it's cool for a track or two but gets old to me. Meanwhile the wolfmother guy is kickass on that track - but kinda a one trick pony - like a full album of him gets monotonus. I like some wolfmother tunes - but its one now and then for me. So to me Myles is far and away the pick of the bunch to do a full album with. But that's just my tatse.

I also think Myles intergrated best into Slash's style. The other guys were cool - but each of their songs sounded like their other bands or solo stuff mostly does...by myles sort of sang in a slashy vibe thats not like his alterbridge stuff.

I agree he doesnt have the chrisma of an Axl...but I must say when i got close to him in Melbourne he's a great singer and still seemed like a cool rock dude.

I don't think he really nails GNR all that well, but a full album of Starlight type numbers with some heavier tunes would be awesome.

Starlight is a great track with a great vocal performance by Myles IMHO. However, he needs to stay the fuck away from My Michelle. Holy hell, please stay away from it. Don't get me wrong, I love hearing Slash play the track in a live setting. But Myles' nasal voice damn near ruins it. However, I actually think Myles has gotten quite good over time at singing SCOM and PC.

I totally agree that a ballad-heavy solo album from Slash with Myles would probably kick ass.

But I think if it gets too rocker-heavy, the cracks are gonna start to show mixing that voice with that guitar.

I sort of see where you're going with that...but then again he handles pretty heavy stuff in Alterbridge...and I think he's less of a one-trick guy than Scott was. I think scott has a beautiful voice but he's sort of one dimesional and I think Myles can push things a little harder.

The original choice of Scott was ALL WRONG for them.

Thought it was a terrible decision then, and a terrible decision now. The only way that would've worked is if Duff & Scott would've convinced the band to go in a grunge-only direction. That's all his voice is suited for. And he's good at it, but still.

I love Layne Staley, but the guy couldn't front GN'R.

Slash is a huge AIC fan, I wonder what he could have written for Layne if he was still alive?

The whole band was... would've been interesting to see where that next GN'R album would've went.

I'm thinking Brother Cane with a bunch of Heaven Beside You/Nutshell type of tracks thrown in.

Just being a fanboy, it would've been fuckin' awesome if all of these guys could've been buddies then.

A GN'R album with guest guitars by Jerry Cantrell and guest backing vocals by Layne Staley & Jerry Cantrell with Duff taking the lead on some tracks, and Axl hammering out his own tracks with just him and his acoustic guitar...
