Axl & Izzy joining VR would be epic. And I think that's far more likely to happen than a GNR reunion. With VR, it could just be an even 20% split for everyone...no business fights...no GNR drama...just a supergroup making music because they love doing that.

But yeah, I have no interest in Corey Taylor fronting VR and would rather Slash just continue his solo career if that's the only option. Basically, I want Slash solo or in a legitimate supergroup(w/ Cantrell)...meaning no Kushner or numetal singers for what is currently VR.

I said this a long time ago. Axl should join VELVET REVOLVER. Wouldn't that be amazing? Let the Guns N' Roses legacy sail off into the sunset. END IT.  Instead of a Guns N' Roses reuinion why not a Velvet Revolver revival?

Dare to dream cause that would be a better scenario than  a "Guns N' Roses reunion"  in my opinion. It would be cool, exciting, fresh and totally unexpecetd. I'd love it 9

It would be a fun idea...but aside from the obvious "Axl would never do it" sort of line, to be honest i'm struggling to imagine the media reaction! How could anyone except that it's VR and not call it GNR. I think it would just become like a "GNR changes it's name" headline.

I mean you would have Matt, Duff, Slash and Axl Rose in the one band...and then claim it's VR not GNR because Dave K is in the room? 16

In some ways I love the idea of getting away from the crushing weight of the legacy..but I also can't see anyone actually swallowing that if they tried to swing it.

So meanwhile, what's the deal with this Corey thing. Seems like he was definately in contention as neither Slash, he or Duff denied it's a chance...but then I'm also figuring it's looking bad...or why does nothing happen...unless they're trying to keep it quiet till post the Slash solo tour this year..and come out with a bang mid year....but yeah...makes me wonder if matt and duff dug him but slash didn't.

You laugh, but notice GN'R couldn't come up with any new material when Izzy left. He was the main songwriter in the band. Without Izzy, it ain't GN'R. GN'R died in 1991 when he left. They toured under the name, but it was just a shell.

That wouldn't work.. After a year of touring and an album Axl would demand the rights to the name Velvet Revolver.

Yeah I don't mean to discount Izzy's roll. I'm just saying VR with Slash, Matt, Duff and Axl is pretty much the  GNR UYI tour line up....so i think it would be a pretty tough sell to the media to call it something else. I can't imagine anyone swallowing it!

But yeah...in a way it's a cool idea...like get away from the pressure.

Sort of like when Axl sang on Baz's album. Like he did a couple of tracks and it was a way of having Axl without like "Is this GNR?" "Is this song as good as any other song" "should this have been mixed better" "who should have played on that track". There's a simplicity to it...just 2 guys screaming out some Aerosmith.

Same sort of deal i guess...it could be Axl and Slash without the name issues and the pressure....but at the end of the day I can't see the media agreeing to call them VR...it would be all about the GNR name change!

Q. Where does Velvet Revolver stand on finding a new singer?

There was truth to the rumor that we were looking at Corey Taylor (Slipknot/Stone Sour), but then I left for tour. So there's nothing being done at the moment. No decision.

Hmm...at least they fessed up . lol.

I think it's going to come around to if it's compatable with Slash's solo plans for Corey. I guess with Stone Sour he might be pretty busy too.

I dunno the way VR is everyone's second or third band these days. lol.
