Poison is every bit as legit as Motley Crue.  My guess is the guys in Motley Crue are douchebags when it comes to this as they all always seem to come across as though they think they were the biggest, baddest and most legit rockers of that era.

Absolutely agree on all fronts, and you are so getting a karma for it too.

I have always hated the massive, cock-measuring attitude of Motley Crue. "We were a gang" "we got away with murder"... it's all so egotistical. I'm sure the Bloods & Crips would massively disagree on Crue's "gang status" in LA.

All Poison have ever had to do is cut songs, and kick ass. They don't have to keep telling themselves how bad ass they were, and that smacks of a band with total confidence.

If anybody is insecure with their coolness, it's Crue, GN'R, or Sebastian Bach who seem to think they were "above" Poison.

absolutely man. Don't forget Bon Jovi. I find it laughable that Axl and Motley and these guys have such a  hate on for a band like Bon Jovi who just went ahead and had a mega career while theirs seemingly fizzled out. Always seemed like  jealousy to me. And I don't ever recall the guys in Poison ever syaing anything other than they have fun doing what they do and that's that. I remember a quote by Taime Downe once saying that any band from LA durring the 80's era could've wrote a book like The Dirt. Motley Crue weren't that special in that regard. It wa a good read but he's probably right.  It's really only Motley Crue who  plays it up so vocally. .

Although to be fair didn't Poison not hire slash because he wasn't pretty? I mean if you know a dude who plays guitar as well as slash you fucking hire him, fuck looks. Does suggest maybe they were a little less about the music than the other bands!

Bon Jovi thinks they're above bands like Poison too.  And they are I suppose, but that's besides the point.  Bon Jovi likes to pretend they weren't a part of the hair band era, that they were too good for that.  They had some of the biggest hair at the time and pop rock hits just like Poison. so that's just not true.  Yes they persevered and held on all the while since then.  And their mega huge now, on the level with U2, but I think it's lame they distance themselves from what they were obviously a huge part of.

Well my point wasn't really what Bon Jovi thought about other abnds or themselves  but I see your's but nothing I said is untrue. I'm just saying it's funny how bands like Gn'R9Axl) and Motley Crue don't see a band like Bon Jovi as legit. And I would argue the fact that Bon Jovi are on the same level as U2. Perhaps but I'm gonna say I don't think so.

BRET MICHAELS Admits POISON/MÖTLEY CRÜE Tour Idea 'Is Simply A Pipe Dream' - Nov. 17, 2010
POISON singer Bret Michaels has admitted to People magazine that there is no truth to his recent claim that POISON and MÖTLEY CRÜE will embark on a joint tour next year.

Michaels announced during this past Saturday night's (November 13) solo concert at Caesars Casino in Windsor, Ontario, Canada that POISON and MÖTLEY CRÜE will celebrate their 25th and 30th anniversaries, respectively, next year by joining forces for a North American trek.

Bret, who is planning to release a country solo album in 2011, tells People that he knows the tour idea "is simply a pipe dream" and adds that it "would be an incredible night of rock for the fans" of both bands.

Meanwhile, Eric Sherman, President of Tenth Street Entertainment, MÖTLEY CRÜE's management tells People that Michaels "is trying to will" a tour that doesn't exist, and adds that fans of MÖTLEY CRÜE can vote on Motley.com for who they would like to see on the bill.

"MÖTLEY will listen to the fans, not to guys trying to book a tour through the media," says Sherman.

As for MÖTLEY CRÜE shooting down the idea, Michaels tells People, "Oh well, you can't blame me for trying to put together what I thought would be a great tour for the fans."

Umm, CC DeVille ain't a hack either. He's pretty good. But if I remember correctly Slash came in with all this old school rock n' roll, Stones/Zeppelin-image, while they were looking for someone of the time. And that's what they got.

I could see CC DeVille in Guns N' Roses, but I CAN NOT see Slash in Poison.
