but people look past the good stuff and go straight for the dirty laundry

what else is there to do in reality?

- the band is slowly being demoted back into delivering the pre-CD set list. All the best songs from CD are being phased out. Yawn...

- the Twitter incident showed that Axl continues to keep very weak people in positions of authority and control in his organisation.

- nobody except Ron has DARED even ALLUDE to offering an interview with any real information in it so its hard to follow a band that offers a vacuum in response to your declared interest in them.

- Axl's fight with Azoff should be a humdinger and is more compelling than watching GNR III play 'Welcome to the Jungle' again.

The fact of the matter is that when you compare how GNR goes about their business when compared to any other modern band, its a flat out trainwreck

With no surprises in this old set they are touring, no interviews to read/listen to, no other fan interaction of any type to gravitate towards; the dirty laundry is about all that keeps many of us here.

You're proving my point.  I just said, there's a lot to bitch and moan about and it's been that way for the last 15+ years.  I just can't see how it can bother some so much after all these years.  It's nothing new people.  There's plenty of positive stuff to talk about at the moment, but I guess it's just not as fun as harping on the bad stuff.

Once again, people want Axl/GNR to change.  If it hasn't happened to this point, why would it happen now?  You're right, there are plenty of other modern and older bands who run things on a normal course and schedule.  Go follow them if it bothers you so much how this band is run.  I don't mean to sound rude, but seriously you know what you're in for with GNR.  At least you should.

By the way, this band that is dead and nobody cares about anymore added a second show in London at the O2 Arena because the first one sold out.  But let us continue to talk about how shitty things are run and how they're destined to fail.  How that second show probably won't take place anyway because the tour will implode by then and even if it does take place there will only be 1000 people there.  And if it does take place it'll just be the same tired old setlist.  And how DJ sucks.  And how Ron hates Axl and is going to quit by that time.  And how Axl needs Slash, Buckethead, Robin, Duff, Izzy.

Yeah, that's more like it.  Sorry to interrupt.  Back to your normally scheduled broadcast.

I'm not in a "camp," but yeah you people who bitch and complain all the time--way over it. It's way old. You are one-trick ponies. And the trick isn't even interesting anymore.

And fore those who say there is positive stuff to talk about, put your money where your mouth is. Where's the thread with all of these kickass new videos. Where's the news of the second London show. Practice what you preach.

Good point.  Sometimes I feel like it's useless to even try and post a positive thread, because it'll just turn in an ugly direction.  But I guess it's worth a try.

Well, I'd say if a thread is posted just to highlight some good and people come in and shit all over it, that's where some moderator gets involved.

Frankly, every thread goes south. Not every thread needs to devolve into the same old argument.

That's the gayest statement. There isn't anyone here, on the main boards, across the globe that roots for new GN'R to fail and see it's demise simply because they see 'potential' in it.

Let me re-phrase my gay statement. You people flourish on negativity. You think it's something that only GNR fans do, because Axl is eratic and irrational? I've seen people complain about seeing 9 Spitfires in the air at an airshow because they're "only" doing the same routine as last years airshow. If you only you knew how hilarious that argument is you would get my point.

Some of you simply like it. You like it when you see anything online you can push into another "GNR is falling apart because Axl's an ass" thread, because you can use your "this band is sooo finished" statements like it's something of a shocker.

Like bigbri said, it's so goddamn old.

I know how boards run, they run best on negativity because it's so much easier to bring that out than put up a positive thread. It will just end negative anyway, especially in GNR world where Axl leaves every door open for any desktop-expert to have a go. There's always a door open to hop in and do the same old "Axl is an ass and this band is over" statements. That's what I meant with potential. Anything is a potential to go down that road. You can blame THAT on Axl too, after all, he leaves the door open for you very easily. But you don't NEED to go there. We all know it. Most of the times anyway. It's just that some of us actually likes concerts, music and having GNR around. Others don't and like to speak about it a lot.

I don't like it. Honest to freakin' God I don't. My dick doesn't get hard as I type this about Axl. It breaks my heart, because I see a man, an artist, whom I still (ugh) greatly respect, fuck up time and again.

If i've made my point. I'll shut the hell up about it. No problem, I just wanted to be very clear, without being nuts either. It is frustrating. No body on the planet, wanted CD to take the world's balls by it's hands, MORE THAN ME.

And as for what Bri said, I honestly think this board would take a more positive direction, if the "Concert" section and the "Main" section were merged. This board does not get enough traffic to have a GN'R section and a tour section.

It might help the morale of the main section if some bitching topics were mixed in with recent concerts and YouTube vids, were somebody like me, who's comments in the concert section of "Axl sounds like 1987", or "the band sounds tight" gets lost with the complaints. And i'm sure it's the same with everyone else.

There's nothing wrong with positivity, and right now the ONLY thing to be positive about are the shows that people are enjoying. Let's give them that, and also splice in some honesty. Instead of divisionalizing it almost, where they are completely seperate places here at Evo.
