Ok, well that was the thring which threw it off.. It was unlimited, but for only $19.99 or $29.99 (I forget)... Which was about the same thing people were already paying. That & the release of Windows 95 were probably the 2 biggest things to happen to the internet.

'Unlimited' will never go away for internet download/upload/minutes.

It'll just be $200 fuckin' bucks a month. That's how they gonna turn it in and twist it on the downloadin' mother fuckers.

wow...i need to move out of australia....I have the best availiable plan in my area...and its like $100 a month...and has limits of 20 gig in day hours, and an additional 40 gig at night. So thats best case 60...and it works out less cos as soon as u use over 20 in the day they disable the night one even if you are well under 60.

So you guys can get 250 gig? wow..we're behind the times here.

all i can say is i'm thankfull that i live in a country that's so far behind with downloading laws that i'll be downloading illegally for the next 50 years

I agree completely. When Microsoft released IE4 and Windows 98, that sealed the deal. IE4s integration into the OS is what really did it. I remember running home on release day to get that installed (I know I was a huge loser). When my friends and I installed the T1 line at my high school, it was game on. We used to come in early to school and download all of our pirated crap so we didn't have to keep the phone in use all night to download. Zip disks saved our lives and when CD burners came out, I about came in my pants it was so awesome. We did alot of dumb shit back in those days. I ran a porn operation out of school and was selling kids CDs with porn for like 20$ a pop. Then it evolved into fake IDs. Damn good times.

Back back to the bandwidth issue. I believe some companies do offer truly unlimited internet (though 250 GB a month is still enormously huge). If memory serves correct, the new FIOS by Verizon is unlimited, but Comcast is about equal to it in speed with the current download rate being 15-20mb. Someone actually back in the States may have a better idea. I know that Comcast works for me (fuck charter, if you have Charter get off it) and will be getting hooked back up to it as soon as I leave the cradle of civilization.

One of my best mates received a warning from his ISP to stop torrenting Xbox games...as apparently they got a legal threat from Microsoft naming his IP...thats the closest I've heard about.
