Honestly, Axl carried the band in their early days while the others were still trying to refine their sound. His voice was fucking incredible. Starting around 3:45 in the above video, he takes it to a completely epic level that I'm not sure he's ever reached since then in a live setting. This was a guy who was singing his heart out with absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain. 9
