Re: How large is your cd collection?

I rarely play my cds however. Like James mentioned he does, I myself make the mixes I want and then the cd goes back to its slot. In fact many of my cds are played only once or twice.
I wanted to place them in alphabetical order, but over 2000 it's kind of a drag. Like for example when I bought ACDC's latest, well it would've made a lot of cd's to move. So I numbered them and I made a list on Windows Access. And that list is in alphabetical order as well as numeral.

Yeah, I had the same problem with the 1400 or so when I got a new cd and wanted to add one. What I did is took all my cds and arranged them in alphabetical order leaving a few spaces in certain areas I anticipated future purchases. I got REALLY tired of moving a bunch of cds to add a new one. Leaving room made it easy. At certain intervals (say every 50) I left four or five slots for cds I may not have anticipated, that way you aren't moving that many when you buy a new one.

Probably about 400 or so - I purge my collection occasionally since I get so many promos from work. I'll take a few pics at some point and post them.

Re: How large is your cd collection?
Last time I actually counted was around 4 years ago and it was a little over 500. So I'd say maybe 600+ now as I don't but anywhere near as many as I used to. They're not catalogued in any way, just piled around my living room.

Leaving 5 or 6 empty slots would work now, but a couple of years ago. Man those empty slots would've filled within a week and maybe more. And I'd never know what I would buy unless there was a big release.
