Listen, I agree they're hung up on Slash, but when you've got everyone and their mother keep bringing it up it's pretty hard to ignore. What if people kept coming up to you, time and time again saying, "man you're just not as cool since you're girlfriend dumped you. I mean, she made you so much cooler. You're nothing with out her. These new girls are nothing compared to her." You think you wouldn't react, just sit there and take it?
Try be adult about it, rise above it, ignore it??? Move on??!!

Did Slash not take a fair amount of shots at Axl in his book? Was that not widely available to the public? It's okay for him to do it?
I've already praised Axl for taking shots at Slash in the song "Sorry." The song is fucking amazing and I'm glad he was letting his frustration out in the music. But the petty bullshit on the website makes him look like a huge prick.
Re: Guns N' Roses update official site
I sent him an email...
Jed,
I just read your review of Guns N' Roses new album, Chinese Democracy. I see that you love the new album and that is great, but your trashing of Izzy and Slash takes away any credibility you may have had. Its just not necessary to go there, especially when the guitars are not that important to this album. GNR used to be a hard rock band with loads of balls and attitude. Now GNR is a solo act that released an album of mid tempo rockers and sappy ballads that don't contain one solo on the level of Slash's "Estranged", "Coma", "November Rain", "Breakdown", "Locomotive", "Sweet Child O'Mine", "Don't Cry", "Civil War", "Paradise City", etc. Slash captured Axl's emotion on the guitar, something the current players for the most part fail to do. You could have spent time praising some of Bucket's brilliant playing, or Brain's fantastic drumming, but you chose to go for headlines and bash former members and act like they held Axl back. "Estranged" and "Coma" are two songs that are epic and pretty much abuse anything on Chinese Democracy and without Slash they would have never been songs. We are all fans of Guns N' Roses. I am a fan of each version. By slamming some of the most favorite GNR members ever to justify your point brings nothing to the review and almost makes you seem biased. When the reunion happens, yes, it will happen, I hope you bash Axl for taking these bums back, because according to you, that would be a major mistake and would cripple his creativity. Thanks,
Marc
Reporters main goal is to get a reaction out of readers. It's certainly working here. He took the opposite stance that the band is better off without Slash (how dare he). Lots of people had complaints about the UYI's, this isn't exactly uncharted territory. I'm not one, I loved both discs, but I've read plenty of comments about them having loads of filler.

You know that's not possible. We've been following this saga enough to figure that out by now. Is it right, no? But expected, yes.

He was telling his story and actually said a lot of good things about him too. It was a biography. Here the album is the focus. The music. The side bar stories or digs at Slash and Izzy are not warranted. LAME!

I hear you, but do you really think, after all these years Axl (or his camp) really cares how he looks? I don't think the goal has ever been to make him look angelic.

I hear you, and so are the articles trashing the band for not having Slash, Duff, Izzy. I know, I know, but it's on the bands official website.

I disagree. There's been a lot of unfair shit thrown at the new band/album that was just as immature and I doubt Slash was paying them.

Re: Guns N' Roses update official site
Shit like this is why Slash, Izzy, Duff, etc will always be seen as the good guys and Axl the bad guy. Fuck. The fact the site endorsed this is why people are pissed.
