Re: 2008 NFL season
yeah, good win for them NYG. That was a great challenge by Coughlin too, I thought the rule was the ball couldn't cross the line in the QB's hand, not his back foot.
Anyway Birds are looking down & out, 0-3 in the NFC East. We need a 4 or 5 game win streak right about now.

Before I saw the replay, I thought "What the hell are you doing?!". Then I saw the replay and was like "a-ha!". I was thinking kick the field goal and dont risk losing a timeout. Thats why they get paid the big bucks I guess.
Re: 2008 NFL season
Can someone explain to me how it is that Dallas is in last place in the NFC East with an identical record as Philly yet they beat Philly? They don't use points scored as a tiebreaker before head to head do they?
I so hope Portis is out for the Skins next week and Romo, Koiser, Newman and Felix can all return for the Cowboys.
Re: 2008 NFL season
Head to head is first, so theoretically Dallas is ahead. I think Dallas is officially ahead of Philly anyway, but if they're not the only thing I can think of is since they haven't played 'twice' yet, they go to the second tiebreaker. Since there's a chance Philly could win & it then goes to the second tie breaker Anyway, I wouldn't pay too much attention to some standings, some sources just list teams randomly when they're tied. For the record, I think tiebreakers go: head to head, divison record, conference record, record against common opponents, then points scored, scored against. Something like that. It usually never gets down to points scored though, but those game 16's can sure get interesting.
Re: 2008 NFL season
so i'm off to my first ever NFL game tomorrow! Buffalo/Browns MNF
went and bought me a baclava, some long lohns and an undershirt today, and unpacked the winter coat and gloves
how much $$$ you think i need? i dont plan on buying souveneirs or anything, just some beer and maybe a couple snacks, we're gonna tailgate all after noon i guess so i dunno how hungry i'll be come game time. hey CC you know how much beers are at ralph wilson stadium? do they take Canadian $$$ there or should i get some US cash? and they better have time hortons there haha i'm not used to staying up late so the past 3 days i've been trying to climatize myself to it.
Re: 2008 NFL season
I'd compare it to concert venue prices. Usually beer & snacks (dogs, peanuts etc) are pretty high, $6 or so. Also parking can probably be $10 or $20 bucks. Try eating well before hand & having a few beers in the parking lot, so you need less inside. Have fun, & dress warm, bring gloves & a winter hat.
Re: 2008 NFL season
yeah i got gloves, a baclava, a hat, winter coat, 2 pairs of socks, long underwear, long sleeve undershitrt, sweater, scarf
hope thats enough...i'll prolly still be cold, hopefully the game is exciting so it takes my mind off the cold...with quinn last couple performances and buffalo dying for a win i'm hopeful

Re: 2008 NFL season
Why do Buffalo quaterbacks get worse the longer they're on the team? Trent doesn't look like he's having concussion problems, but he is sucking. Not ONE pass thrown AT Lee Evans, easily the best reciever on the team for like 3 years now. And he was wide open a few times. Evans should be an all-star but he's a nobody because JP couldn't get him the ball and Edwards never looks his way.
Painful season for Buffalo. I really thought being 4-0 and 5-1 would be end in the playoffs, but here we are, 5-5, and more or less out of contention. I may stop watching every down of every game.

Re: 2008 NFL season
^^He's a young quarterback. He will have growing pains. Him struggling at times and looking confused is to be expected. Give him time. He has shown some flashes. Thats what you look for at this point in a young QBs career.
