My problem with this is it isn't a review.  I'd have no problem if that had talked about the songs and why they thought it sucked.

Exactly. I wouldn't really mind about reviews if these weren't influating people to buy or not to buy something. I like to make my own opinion, but to tell the truth sometimes a very good review is inspiring and a very bad takes you away from even downloading the album (to 'taste it'). I can handle critical reviews, if the writer has fair points. Maybe he/she has a different view and a different taste in music, that's all. But this 'review' is absolutely shitty, the author has no clue. Wonder how Guardian could have accepted it.

lol.. it's funny because the guy is rating something he probably hasn't even listened to. What a clown. If you dislike the music, fine, who cares, but at least review something...

It was said in 2006. I remember reading about it on the forums.

That was a review out of nothing. Could have been written in 2001 and just put aside and waited for the release. Pretty fucking bad journalism.

Cool it. He asked a perfectly fine question. Why so elitist?

The top piece wasn't a review it was an article just about Axls return and how it's good to see him back, even if there are a few scathing jokes aimed in his direction.

The second piece is the album review by a different journalist it just happened to be in the same newspaper on the same day so I posted both articles together.
