it's also well documented that axl was writing lyrics and melodies LAST...
meaning alot of those titles could have been working titles to the instumenal versions of what ultimately is on the album...
That's a good point if I ever saw one.
Imagine reading these lyrics with only knowing 1998-2007 song titles...

Wouldn't it be safe to say those lyrics would fall in line with a song title such as Zodiac? As we all know, those lyrics are for Shackler's Revenge.

One thing about the original post... I agree that Chinese Democracy should have been bigger than just 14 tracks. Not just because I wanted the original 18 track version that was planned, but because he could have made this a HUGE album that had instant classic status. But he's spreading it out (and probably spreading it thin) over, what, 3 or 4 albums? I don't understand that. If he would have focused on making one really bad ass epic album not only could he have released the 18 track record, he could have released it YEARS ago. And he still would have shit left over for another album and then focused on making THAT album epic.
Could you imagine CD with at least 2 or 3 more epic rock songs?
This is a guy who's been trying to release a box set since his first album.

Considering the fact several of those songs are going to be 6+ minutes long, I think the album will actually be 'full' of material.
The only reason UYI2 was 14 tracks with all those epics, is that songs like Yesterdays, Shotgun Blues & My World were relatively short, with My World being under a minute and a half, which was really just a track "in name only". In reality the album was 13 tracks.

Sure, I think more can be added. Especially if they removed one of the ballads. Like Catcher. Not that I don't like it, but it really wouldn't be missed if it was saved for a later album. It might actually make the album flow better.
