VINCE NEIL: TOMMY LEE Still In MÖTLEY CRÜE, Band To Hit Studio In January - Nov. 12, 2007

Forget whatever rumors you've been hearing about Tommy Lee not being in MÖTLEY CRÜE or turmoil within the band. While at Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp last week, frontman Vince Neil gave MTV News the lowdown on what's happening. "Well, see what happens is, there's a press release saying that Tommy was out of the band and everybody jumped on that. But when Tommy issued his own press release saying that 'no', nobody paid attention to him. So, he was never out of the band and actually I just talked to him yesterday and I talked to Nikki a couple of days ago and we're going to go into the studio in January and hopefully have a single out by March and a tour in June." As for what the band will be working on, Vince says the album will be called "The Dirt", just like the collaborative autobiography on the CRÜE. And also like that tell-all, Neil hopes each song on the disc will tell a story from their lives. However, the group could just as easily scrap those ideas since, in Vince's own words, "Who knows, in two weeks we'll change the title."

Hopefully the album is well written and produced and not just slapped together. I think a new album could work if it's well written and produced and not just slapped together.

Re: Mötley Crüe

so Tommy is going to record the next album with them?  i didn't really see a straight answer in there.   If he's not, I'm not interested.

I dig the record but live these guys need to step their game up again. I went to Cruefest with some yougins who'd never seen Crue before this year. I was talking Crue up (except Vince) the whole time and then Crue got completely and totally shown up by Buckcherry and Papa Roach because they phoned it in.

Yeah, I've heard the album, and it's pretty good.

But (and I know I've said this on here before, but I can't say it enough) the last time I saw them live it was  the worst embarassing piece of shit performance I've ever seen.  I've seen live shows by bands that I don't like that I enjoyed more than I did that show.

That show was just an  "An Evening With" show where they didn't play with anybody else, I don't want to even imagine how bad it would have seemed if I had another band who'd played a good set to compare it to that night.
