Bill Clinton has to be one of the luckiest bastards in history to get eight years.

Not that he was a bad president or anything, but did the guy ever have to even SWEAT? Seriously, H.W. Bush? Bob fucking Dole? Ross Perot?

You throw a Colin Powell in one of those elections, and hell, yep i'm gonna say it, George W. Bush.

Clinton would've either only gotten 4 years, or none at all. Not that he's not the better guy, it's just people would've voted the other way, I guarantee you. The only reason it was close in 2000, was people liked Gore more than Clinton in most cases, especially after 'Butterhog-Gate'.

I'm not denying he ran a good campaign. The fact he was able to bitch slap Hillary proved that. He is a weak candidate that never should have made it out of the primaries. His political talents rose to the occasion and he was able to overcome the obstacles.

Like Bill Clinton, he benefited from a weak opposition, bad economy, and a president with low ratings.

I was watching the Colbert Report last night, and he had as a guest the lead singer of Wilco, who happens to have known Obama for a few years now.  The guy from Wilco told Stephen that he asked Obama if they could come to inaguration (this was back when the primaries were taking place), and Obama said "If Hilary invites us."

He ran an excellent campaign.  Even he didn't think at first he'd make it to the nomination.

Stephen Colbert also endorsed Obama.

Yeah, that first day in Iowa changed everything. A year or two ago I thought it would be Hillary v Guiliani.. Although deep down I did think Gore was going to step in & run.
