This case got massive coverage here in California back then. I remember everyone talking about it. My grandma and grandpa had their guns within easy reach at all times.

It must have been terrifying knowing he was on the loose. I too can't believe how he was inundated with marriage proposals.

I love the way this guy was caught by members of the public chasing him through the streets.
