Watched quite a bit of football yesterday. Hadn't been watching as much so far this season. Biggest surprise this year is the Bears. Looks they they could quietly be on an SB run. Really remind me of that 04-05 team that had a legit shot but blew it because they had a hard on for Grossman. I have some advice for the Bears front office....

No matter what Orton does, leave him in there! I know he's not the greatest QB, but a win is a win. I know he put up some horrific stats a few years ago when they went on a win streak, but you have to trust the D and just pray that he doesn't fuck up too bad.

Now I'm wishing I hadn't made Arizona my SB pick for the NFC.

What a strange season. Titans 5-0? Colts 2-2? Bills on a SB run like predicted last year? Browns a huge disappointment. Same with the Vikings. Unfortunately for those two teams, that window might have been open for only one year.

NFC East is gonna be another bloodbath.

I'm shocked the Pats are 3-1 without Brady. If that trend continues, Buffalo is gonna have to win most of its division games to have a shot.

Whole league looks to be competitive this year. Bengals and Rams fighting for draft position.

Yeah so far it looks like the NFC is a step or two ahead of the AFC.  Times have changed.  Maybe last years Super Bowl wasn't a shock after all.  The Colts could easily be 0-4 this year.  They really had no right winning against the Viking OR the Texans.  Chargers are off to a rough start, their defense isn't nearly as strong without Merriman.  Bills are solid, but I'm not completely sold, nor am I with the Titans.  Both teams are good defensively and have solid run games, but don't really scare you with the passing game.  But the AFC is wide open.  No team stands out right now.  Of course there's a long way to go but most teams have a lot of work to do.

I'd have to say the Giants are the most balanced team right now in the NFL.  Solid on both sides of the ball, both passing and running defense/offense.  The Redskins have looked great since the first game of the season though.  They're right up there.  It really takes till about Thanksgiving or so till teams really start to take shape, so a lot can happen between now and then.  A team could go on a 5 game winning/losing streak right now and completely change the outlook.  At this point last year, not even the most hardcore Giants fan could've predicted they would've won the Super Bowl.  They were calling for Eli's head and for Coughlin to be fired.  We've still got a ways to go.

I was never calling for Eli and Coughlin's head. I remember defending Eli on here to the nth degree. wink

Dallas is a good team, dont get me wrong. But man do they look like a team that could come unglued at any time. TO  is a ticking time bomb, Romo looks depressed all the time, Wade Phillips has an owner looking over his shoulder all the time and an assistant coach just waiting for his shot. Oh and did anyone see the Phillips' post game press conference? I cant remember the exact words, maybe someone can find it, but he mumbled something when he walked off the stage towards a reporter.

I'm friends with many hardcore Giant fans (many who own Eli jerseys) and they were turning against him last year.  So you may be in the minority there.

I think it was probably about 50/50. I know some that were expecting way too much too soon, and some that saw the improvements he made. And now look at him!

Dallas may be a good team but I'm officially worried. They haven't  looked sharp since the Eagles game and even there they allowed over 35 points. They can never seem to put it all together. The D plays well today but then the offence sucks and the special teams were brutal. The days the speacil teams do there jobs and the offence clicks the Defence allows big plays and lots of points.  If they don't play well against the Rams and win next week I won't be surprised if they come completely unglued.

So glad to see the Colts playing like the Colts again. They shutdown Baltimore's run game and forced 5 turnovers. Manning suddenly remembered he had Marvin Harrison to throw to. They still have a rough road if they want to make the playoffs.

I was also pleased to see Arizona win. I think they are definitely going to win their division. Can't say I feel the same way about their first playoff game though.

If they get the division, and I agree they probably will, they are monsters at home. I don't know when it happened but at some point it became very hard to win in theur stadium. Aren't they on like an 8 game home win streak? That's scary.

Redskins... c'mon, you're better than that. Same to the Panthers.
