I'm a southerner, so I am a big fan of Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy. Larry, to me, is the best. Seen him live and by the time I left my side was killing me.

I was once in Vegas and played a Foxworthy slot machine for like 4 hours. I kept calling my friends hammered and doing "You might be a redneck" jokes completely forgetting about the time change. I got some voicemails the next day about that!

Good story!

Another one I like was Roy D. Mercer. He did prank calls and such. "How big'a boy are ya?":haha:

Coupling is probably the best modern sitcom around.

Do yourselves a favour, look it up!

I like Coupling but I wouldn't give it that much praise. A British version of Friends with weaker characters imo.

Although I agree with you that it's a British version of Friends, I definitely prefer Coupling. The characters are indeed more of a caricaturisation, more two dimensional, but that's what makes it funnier, imho. Jeff's antics are hilarious wink.

Re: Favourite Comedy/Comedians

Some of the programmes I find funniest are:

Father Ted
Friends
My Name Is Earl
Alan Partridge
The IT Crowd
Never Mind The BuzzCocks
The Office
Extras
The Simpsons

I just love Simon Amstell for some reason who presents Never Mind The Buzzcocks.  I never really got Monty Python but I quite enjoyed The Holy Grail if that's the one with the killer rabbit in it.  A film I found really funny (I haven't seen it since I was about 12 mind) was Erik The Viking.

And Dennis Leary is a god.  In fact, he can go in the man ass thread.

^ Gotta agree with what you said in a previous post LLL Simon Amstell is absolutely hilarious. The latest series of Never Mind the Buzzcocks was brilliant. The episode below is probably the best one, it's got Donny Tourette as a guest (lead singer of Towers of London, who supported GNR in 06) and he's a complete prick it's hilarious to see them rip him to bits.

I seriously recommend you watch this if you have a free half hour it's hilarious.

Re: Favourite Comedy/Comedians

Mitch Hedberg is my favorite. Strategic Grill Locations is the ultimate stoner comedy album. No one does better with broken jokes than Mitch.

I also love Brian Regan, who I've seen twice, Jim Gaffigan, who I saw once, and Demetri Martin is sometimes really funny too.
