Re: McCain lies? Caves? Or Obama was right?
PaSnow, the point about him not looking the enemy in the eye is an interesting one. If he can't separate an American politician from Vietnamese war criminals, then either he has a serious case of PTSD or some other kinds of issues that make his temperament unacceptable for the office of President of the United States. It's not an acceptable excuse and never will be. Politics is not war. Perhaps McCain should learn that.
Re: McCain lies? Caves? Or Obama was right?
I'm not saying it's an excuse, but it could be part of his personality. Although, a few posts back I posted where he clearly looks at Ron Paul in a debate. So that's kinda off the table anyway. I think they advised him to not look at Obama, either to try to belittle Obama, or to not get McCain too angry. One of those two is my guess. Who knows.

I'm not saying you were trying to use it as an excuse. But I will not be shocked if McCain's campaign DOES try to play the P.O.W. card, and if they do, it makes him look even worse because they would be admitting he has PTSD...which makes him unqualified to be President by most people's definition of what kind of temperament we expect from the President.
Re: McCain lies? Caves? Or Obama was right?
3) Don't drag Obama down with McCain. Obama might not be the greatest Democratic leader to ever live, but he certaintly is the best 'runner' for the job since John Kennedy. Yeah I know you don't like JFK, but Obama makes LBJ, Humphreys, McGovern, Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, CLINTON, GORE, and especially Kerry look BEYOND lightweights. He makes them all look like amateurs. I might not agree with everything Obama says, but there's something about him, something different... and no it's not his black-ness.
This made me laugh. Obama doesn't need to get dragged down. He's already there. Being the lesser of two evils doesn't make him a great candidate/
Re: McCain lies? Caves? Or Obama was right?
That is pretty cheezy, because every statement was followed by "But...".
Anyway, Obama said that too much, but McCain's not looking Obama in the eye was just as bad (They should make a commercial about that:) That's just his Obama's way, and I think it works, because it shows he does agree with others, yet takes their viewpoint a step further but showing some faults within it. Kinda emphasizes the 'reaches across party lines' debate too.

You know what's really bad about that ad? The McCain campaign released it on their website BEFORE the debate was over yet they slapped the "I'm John McCain and I approve of this message" on there. Kinda hard to approve of something when you aren't even around to watch it.

Oh man, McCain trying to defend Palin's comments on Pakistan:
What an asshat. Apparently, a person should not be taken at their word when they're caught through microphones saying something that doesn't jive with their political campaign's position. What a jackass.
Re: McCain lies? Caves? Or Obama was right?
Sheeez, he totally contradicts himself when saying what her stance is.
"She agrees with me"
"But she said the exact opposite of what you said"
"Well, she was in the middle of a conversation, normally she agrees with me and doesn't announce it."
"But she just stated it in public"
"Well that doesn't count"
How on earth is she going to take a position Thursday night. It's going to be a mess. Seemed like Stephenopolous towards the end (1:28) almost asked him the big question.
