I'm really disappointed in McCain. His handling of the debate is just shameful. Amazing that its not getting tons of media attention.
I cant stand Obama's wife but I'd definitely have the decency to look at her if she shook my hand.
This election is just god awful. Worst candidates in history. Jesse Ventura should have jumped in the ring months ago and he would have won.
If McCain does not correct his behavior in the upcoming debates, you can bet the media narrative is going to be pretty tough on him. For the first debate, everyone is kind of in a "WTF was that?" moment, but if it continues, it then becomes pretty clear that it's not an anomaly, that it's some kind of strategy on his part, or at least a sign of a major character flaw. Fuck, I would say looking an opponent in the eye is one of the things we would most want in a President. It makes our country look weak if we have a President who goes to have a meeting with someone he disagrees with from another country and refuses to ever look them in the eye.

Have you forgotten 04? Bush vs. Kerry? I think both candidates in 08 are better than both in 04, although I'll admit I think Dems are losing their love for Obama a bit and Republicans are losing their love for McCain as well. This was shaping up to be a very passionate election but the campaign trails have drained not just the candidates, but the voting public. It's a more bloated process than Christmas these days, and the country is suffering for it.

1) Ventura is a fucking moron. Believe me when I tell you that. I kind of know that's your point, but Ventura makes John Kerry look like George fucking Washington. Ventura is an idiot. Arnold Schwarzenegger is Abe Lincoln compared to Ventura. Not only is he a 9/11 truther, but HE CAN'T EVEN ACCURATELY EXPLAIN THEIR BULLCRAP. The dude thinks when a fire is put out by water it turns into black smoke... a fuckin' 4-year old knows it's steam, and then got into argument defending the statement. He's also misquoted political leaders countless times, most recently Thomas Jefferson. And when I say misquoted, I mean completely MAKING SOMETHING UP, then slapping a legend's name on it.
2) This is not the worst combo of candidates in history. Ford/Carter in '76, and H.W. Bush & Dukakis in '88 were FAR worse.
3) Don't drag Obama down with McCain. Obama might not be the greatest Democratic leader to ever live, but he certaintly is the best 'runner' for the job since John Kennedy. Yeah I know you don't like JFK, but Obama makes LBJ, Humphreys, McGovern, Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, CLINTON, GORE, and especially Kerry look BEYOND lightweights. He makes them all look like amateurs. I might not agree with everything Obama says, but there's something about him, something different... and no it's not his black-ness.

McCain couldn't even look at Michelle. That is fucking pathetic. He's really going to hurt himself a lot. The press could take those pictures and make McCain look like a racist.
This debate changed my mind again. For the past couple weeks i had been shifting to McCain, but this debate was pathetic. In my eyes there was a clear winner, and it was Obama.
I will be watching the VP debate. Unless Palin is doing HEAVY research until Thursday, Biden will tear her up.

When's the next Presidential debate?
Good question. The VP debate is coming up next Thursday I think. Should be pretty hilarious watching Palin try to defend the fact that she sided with Obama on Pakistan just recently, which is a position that McCain has hammered Obama for (and one that has actually been successfully implemented by the C.I.A.).

Yeah I remember Chris Rock wayyyyyy back when he was on SNL (around 91) about that. He said "Look, people of Arizona. We're not asking you to DO anything. you get the day off!! You ain't gotta do nothing, just give us this one day a year, please. You can have the other 364." It was pretty funny. I don't know how much that is the Senator though, as opposed to it's Governor. I think it also goes to a public vote occasionally, and doesn't win. I guess there's few people who care. My brother lives in Utah, and they ended up not with MLK Day, but something like "Humanity Day" or something.. (psssst, there's no black people in Utah)
McCain certainly has to correct that. I'm not going to throw the race card out there, as it may have been a strategy or just his personality. He did suffer in torture camp for years probably never looking his enemy in the eye. So he does have that in his psyche, although he was clearly looking at Ron Paul in the previous clip from a few posts back. Remember in 04 when Kerry was using his pen & writing notes down when not speaking during the first debate while Bush was just standing there. Then, in the second & third one Bush would write stuff down while not speaking, just in case camera showed him (Now every politician does it). I think this will be like that. It'll be correctly & probably overdone next time. Although I do wonder if they feel McCain gets too angry while looking at his opponent. We'll see.
