Re: METALLICA Discussion
That's a shame. Buying at outlets is pretty much worthless now.
I kept an eye on the online sale, and bought my GN'R tix in 2006 by phone, so I could specifically request the seats I wanted. (side stage, aisle seats, that way I get the experience of the pit, without the pit if you get what i'm saying)
But I knew some people that bought at the venue, and got fuckin' awful seats. And paid the same price I did.

Yeah, Broken, Beat and Scarred has some great sing-along parts
"RISE, FALL, DOWN, RISE AGAIN!!!"
Re: METALLICA Discussion
Just picked it up. Only heard about the first 5 songs or so but I love it. Sounds close to the black album. Definitely better than Load & all for me. Funny story, I was at the checkout line & the black girl at the register picks it up, looks at it, and says "Damn everyone's buying this."
Fuck yeah, two thumbs up!!

When I bought mine Friday night I saw a friend of mine walk up to the next register over with his copy. I walked up behind him, looked at the cashier and said,
"So, How many white guys that look like one of us have you seen today?"
Without even looking to see who I was, my friend without missing a beat said,
"All of em."
Just a funny story that PASnow's story made me think of.
I'm digging the album more every time I listen to it... and I didn't dislike it at first.
Re: METALLICA Discussion
Absolutely, but only on the reason they are big part of the originators of Rap/Hip-Hop. Big influence on me as well, along with plenty of other white kids. Allowed us to venture into the rap world occasionally as we grew older (yeah, I have a few tapes & cd's).
As for longevity though, their careers didn't last more than about 5 good years. Public Enemy certainly deserves to go in whenever they're up. Best rap group ever imho.
