That surplus was a mirage. Do you realize how many books had to get cooked to make the "surplus" possible?

Besides, it was a joke.

He's been a lame duck for quite some time. I really wish this mess could get under control and ride out the rest of the year in cruise control. A new president and cabinet need to take a look at this mess.

My point is that the entire Us economy is based on loaning money at any cost. Just pump more money in to it, let people spend more on shit they don't need and then, when they can't pay for the shit they don't need, bail them out. It is fucked and it is based on greed and materialism. It is out of control. It really has nothing to do with Democrat or Repulican but more to do with Rich vs Poor. 17

Amazing huh?

I really thought Bush was going to truly benefit this country, and then he turns against his word.

"No more bailouts... after AIG.  It stops now!" 16

Ouch.

That's a really good graph. It shows how the Reagan boom was in cruise control(minus the mini recession), went up a bit on Clinton's watch then tanked, then when Bush took the wheel we went over the cliff.

I don't know EXACTLY what this chart indicates, but the fact that it's on CIA.gov makes me believe it's legit. I think we operate on borrowed money, and are fast becoming just another country economically.
