Re: The swing state polls are in.....
I still don't like the whole "war is a mission from god" talk. Are we gonna let god dictate our policies? That's just scary talk if you ask me.
Being on the other side of the globe, I haven't been following this as much as I should. She actually said that? And the Pipeline thing too?!
Makes me glad I'm not following the election very much.
We condemn terrorists for being religious fanatics, and then we're gonna consider electing someone that spouts crap like this?
Yeah, I'm on a mission from god, too. Time to get the band back together.

This would be enough to bury ones political career in any other civilized western country. Religion and politics do not mix.
Re: The swing state polls are in.....
Bush won most of those states anyway, Obama 's leading in NM & Colo, & Iowa so he only needs 1 or 2 more.
Earlier this year you were claiming those states were locks for the dems. Now its "Bush won them anyways".
Yeah, and he won the election.
Without Ohio, you usually don't win the presidency. Statistical fact.
Obama hasn't asked for any earmarks this year. Last year, he asked for $311 million worth, about $25 for every Illinois resident. Alaska asked this year for earmarks totaling $198 million, about $295 for every Alaska citizen.
Earmarks, earmarks, earmarks. Like with the "bridge to nowhere", something called facts get in the way of liberal spin.

Starts at 2005(pre Palin), and of course you can check all other years.
Pre Palin, earmarks for Alaska in 2005 were $705 million. In 2009, its going to be $197 million. She cut over 60% of the state's earmark requests in 2 years. Find me ONE governor(besides Palin) with a record for cuts like that.
Slightly off topic, you might need some "change" in your home state. Earmarks there are through the roof. IF McCain loses, you Pennsylvania residents should start a petition asking Palin to move there. She'll vaporize all that wasteful spending.
Since we felt the need to have Palin earmarks brought up, lets balance it out with some Obama earmarks.
$704 million the past three years. Thats quite a hefty number for someone who doesn't even manage a state.

Here's an interesting earmark:
he did manage to secure $1.3 million for a high-explosive technology program for the Army's Bradley Fighting Vehicle. The program was overseen by General Dynamics, and one of Obama's top supporters, James Crown '” a member of Obama's national finance committee '” serves on the board of General Dynamics.
Wouldn't that be a conflict of interest?
Scratch that. I always forget we're supposed to brush this shit aside because he wants "change".
Obama hasn't asked for any earmarks this year.
No shit. He was already drowning in earmarks and he hopes people will forget about all prior earmarks.
Thankfully, the american people aren't that stupid(yet).

I'm not a religious nut either, but I don't really let such statements bother me. Most religious people will think anything going on is the will of God, and war isn't going to be an exception. Back in the mid 80's, Reagan thought we were probably living in the end times. Didn't cause him to nuke Russia or the Middle East to bring prophecy closer to reality.
Politicians cant dictate personal beliefs into law. Lets say McCain/Palin win, and McCain dies one month into his presidency. Palin then tries to get sex ed banned in schools. Do you really think such a thing would pass? Its just liberal scare tactics. Nothing more.
I don't know why Obama didn't pick Hillary. If he had, McCain never would have picked Palin. One choice affect another, and so on.
I still think he would have picked Palin, but that's a good point. Obama picking Biden pretty much guaranteed Palin would enter the race. Although an Obama/Clinton ticket might have forced McCain to pick Giuliani.
I just don't know why he went so quickly and so far to the right. He used to be more moderate. That to me is very telling.
He's in his 70's. He wants to be president before he dies. Palin gives him the best chance for Victory. He would have picked her even if she was a lesbian Nazi.

Yeah, WTF is up with that. Although we used to have 2 Republican Senators until 2006. 1 was voted out for a Dem. The other, Arlen Spector, is a looong time Senator in office since the 60's. He probably had alot to do with thsoe because of his pull & seniority. He's something like 85 now though, & will likely be voted out in 2 years.
Funny thing is him & our Governor (former Mayor of Philly) don't live too far from me. I don't think they're around all that much, but some people have seen The Guv walking his dogs around (cursing "WTF slow down.. get over here, wtf. Dammit, aw shit!!" )
Re: The swing state polls are in.....
· McCain is trusted more than Obama in all five states.
HOW DO YOU ASCERTAIN TRUST LEVELS FROM A YES OR NO QUESTION?
· In all five states, McCain is viewed more favorably than Obama.
EVEN IN STATES THAT HAVE MORE PEOPLE VOTING FOR OBAMA?
· Also, in all five states, Sarah Palin draws higher 'Very Favorable' ratings than any other candidate.
OMG...I'm a woman...i must vote for a woman candidate from Alaska no less?
· In all states except Colorado, McCain enjoys a bigger margin among Republicans than Obama does among Democrats. In Colorado, they are even.
· Economic issues are the top issue in all five states with national security matters a distant second.
And McCain would help this HOW?
· The number who would not be comfortable with Obama as President is higher in every state than the number saying the same about McCain. This is consistent with national polling data showing that McCain voters are more likely than Obama supporters to be primarily voting against the other candidate.
· Obama has the edge among unaffiliated voters in three states, McCain in two. Nationally, unaffiliated voters are fairly evenly divided.
· Pennsylvania has more undecided voters than any other state'”seven percent (7%). Most of these are Democrats or unaffiliated voters.

That right there is why she has energized the base and will draw in voters from all sides. Liberals have to resort to talking down to people who like her because they cant go after her on the issues because their own candidate supported them.
You'll need a new strategy in 2012.
