The margin of sampling error for the full sample in each state poll is +/- 4.5 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.
A number of themes emerge from the data that are consistent across all five states:
· McCain is trusted more than Obama in all five states.
· In all five states, McCain is viewed more favorably than Obama.
· Also, in all five states, Sarah Palin draws higher 'Very Favorable' ratings than any other candidate.
· In all states except Colorado, McCain enjoys a bigger margin among Republicans than Obama does among Democrats. In Colorado, they are even.
· Economic issues are the top issue in all five states with national security matters a distant second.
· The number who would not be comfortable with Obama as President is higher in every state than the number saying the same about McCain. This is consistent with national polling data showing that McCain voters are more likely than Obama supporters to be primarily voting against the other candidate.
· Obama has the edge among unaffiliated voters in three states, McCain in two. Nationally, unaffiliated voters are fairly evenly divided.
· Pennsylvania has more undecided voters than any other state'”seven percent (7%). Most of these are Democrats or unaffiliated voters.
Re: The swing state polls are in.....
He just needs to get back on track, weather the storm, regroup and then debate. He was continually behind Hillary and rallied. All of those except Ohio are in the margin of error also, whatever that means.
Clearly, the Palin choice changed things, I'm never going to dispute that. I didn't like the Biden choice. Now, he's got to deal with it.
Re: The swing state polls are in.....
Well, to be fair to Obama, he does have information on his site. However, its just generalizing everything and even if it did have details, the public isn't gonna sit there and read all of it. We live in the age of the sound bite and the youtube clip. Start throwing real info in that direction instead of insulting the most popular politician in the country(Palin).
The disturbing thing for liberals in this poll is Ohio. They were banking on that for some reason, and now they've been delivered a reality check.

At least you're willing to admit it.
She was a momentum changer. Even though she does have a few unconventional stances on issues, people across the spectrum can relate to her. No one fell for that "she's gonna kill off sex ed", "she wants evolution banned in schools", "she's gonna outlaw abortion" bullshit being spewed by dems. Everyone knows that having views and enacting those views into law are two different things.
Reagan was strongly opposed to abortion. Twenty years after his presidency, you can still get an abortion.
Those tactics aren't going to work, and I'm gonna laugh if they throw that shit in her face during the debate.
Yeah, Biden was a crucial mistake for Obama.
Re: The swing state polls are in.....
Bush won most of those states anyway, Obama 's leading in NM & Colo, & Iowa so he only needs 1 or 2 more. I am not worried whatsoever about Biden as a choice. He's solid. Palin gave a quick bump, albeit a big one, but let's face it, she's going to fall apart within 8 weeks.
For instance:
She claims it's "God's Will to put a pipeline in Alaska"?!!
&
Obama hasn't asked for any earmarks this year. Last year, he asked for $311 million worth, about $25 for every Illinois resident. Alaska asked this year for earmarks totaling $198 million, about $295 for every Alaska citizen.

She has yet to speak to the media & McCain is setting them up under their terms.
Re: The swing state polls are in.....
I still don't like the whole "war is a mission from god" talk. Are we gonna let god dictate our policies? That's just scary talk if you ask me.
I don't know why Obama didn't pick Hillary. If he had, McCain never would have picked Palin. One choice affect another, and so on.
Still, McCain needed to get a few of those battleground states back because Obama had all of them. After the DNC, Obama surged in polls. Now, McCain is. The real polls that are gonna point to the eventual outcome will come out in October sometime. I'm not worried. A little frustrated Obama is letting the other camp dictate the talk.
I think it's a little shady Palin hasn't been allowed to do interviews yet. I'm sure she's willing to. Makes you wonder what's going on behind the scenes.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I always liked McCain, I just don't know why he went so quickly and so far to the right. He used to be more moderate. That to me is very telling.
