Re: ALICE IN CHAINS HEADING BACK TO THE STUDIO
Bad move in my opinion. Layne (as C.C. correctly stated already) was the heart and soul of the group. Isn't the same, can't be the same, won't be the same. I'll listen but it will be a new Cantrell solo to me with a guest singer...nothing more.
Re: ALICE IN CHAINS HEADING BACK TO THE STUDIO
I don't mind artists going back out on the road, and performing the hits for the fans, for old time's sake. AIC, Queen, no problem with that.
But when they start working new studio material, that's when they cross the line into blasphemy.

Re: ALICE IN CHAINS HEADING BACK TO THE STUDIO
well i hope nobody likes back in black.
i saw them in 2006 twice and they were un-be-fucking-lievable. so much chemistry and so much passion in the music. william does a fantastic job on the songs and there is no doubt in my mind that they will put out a phenomenal album.
furthermore, were you people in the band? no you weren't. you don't know what it feels it like. if it didnt feel right to jerry, mike, and sean then they wouldnt be doing it.

Re: ALICE IN CHAINS HEADING BACK TO THE STUDIO
AC/DC seems different tho. The point is valid in a lot of ways but AIC ran its course, beginning, massive fame, decline. They're all probably past their prime, and although there are parts of the history of AIC that could've been better, it was complete. AC/DC was still a growing group in their musical prime. If Layne dies right after Dirt and they decide to continue, I get it. I'm ok with it. It might not be good anymore but the attempt is acceptable and respectable. Digging the band up after 12-13 years seems like a publicity stunt.
I am a total hypocrite because I supported the new Blind Melon, which is almost the exact same situation (except Travis has a great voice).
