Re: McCain picks Sarah Palin for Vice President
Searching for Palin's 'Hot Photos'
I doubt that any of us have ever considered any of our past vice presidential candidates a sex symbol. But if recent Internet searches are any measure of the average American's current interest in politics, that may be changing.
On the Richter scale of Internet search energy, Republican presidential candidate John McCain's announcement on Friday that he had chosen Sarah Palin, the current Governor of Alaska, as his running mate measured a magnitude 10. If you compare the number of searches for "John McCain," "Barack Obama" or "Joe Biden" to those for "Sarah Palin," there's no contest. In just two days, the number of U.S. Internet searches for "Sarah Palin" reached a peak greater than any other political personality in the last three years. In the week ending Aug. 30, 2008, searches for Gov. Palin were almost four times as popular as Obama searches, eight times as popular as McCain searches and over 10 times more popular than searches for Biden.
So, what exactly are Palin searchers seeking?
Of the 1,323 unique search queries containing "Sarah Palin" over the last four weeks, there were many that you'd normally expect to see regarding a newly named vice presidential candidate: queries about Palin's biography, for example, her voting record and her stance on abortion. The No. 1 search was simply "Sarah Palin". The next nine most popular search terms that appeared in conjunction with "Sarah Palin" were:
2. Vogue Magazine
3. Photos
4. Beauty Pageant
5. Bio
6. Biography
7. Pictures
8. Scandal
9. Alaska Governor
10. Hot
And if you look more carefully at the 1,300 searches Hitwise tracked, one of the most commonly entered search topics surrounding Palin was "hot photos." (Hitwise search data updates weekly on Monday, so searches related to the news of Palin's pregnant teen daughter, Bristol, are not yet available). Other queries common to the American public: "Sarah Palin Bikini Photos," "Sarah Palin Naked," "Sarah Palin Nude." People also searched frequently for Palin's physical stats '” particularly her age and height '” as they do with all of the other candidates and running mates. Internet searchers also appear to be fascinated and confused about her religious orientation, with several queries such as "Sarah Palin Religious Beliefs," "Sarah Palin Christian," "Sarah Palin Catholic," "Sarah Palin Mormon," and "Sarah Palin Jewish."
Examining which of their search results Internet users click on provides additional clues on searchers' intent. Of those searching for information on the Republican V.P. candidate, 28.5% continued on to reference websites such as Wikipedia, indicating that a large portion of searchers were interested in finding out general information, or simply answering this weekend's common question: Who is Sarah Palin?
Given that the most popular searches surrounding the candidates include queries about Meghan McCain's lunch with Heidi Montag, Web videos of Obama Girl and slogans like "Alaska: Coldest State, Hottest Governor," it's getting harder and harder to distinguish news about the 2008 presidential race from the latest chatter from celebrity gossip magazines.

I'll freely admit I was one of the many people who performed a few searches like this.
Re: McCain picks Sarah Palin for Vice President
Everyone did. Like I said earlier, that face is worth a million votes(maybe more).
That pic up there spoofing Juno shows that the country is already warming up to the distinct possibility of a McCain/Palin administration. There's always humor in politics, and a McCain/Palin administration will be much more interesting than an Obama/Biden administration.
Re: McCain picks Sarah Palin for Vice President
Prediction: She continues doing what she's been doing, liberals continue attacking her for no reason and continue staying off their "change" mantra(which was a house of cards anyways), Obama starts dropping in the polls, and McCain/Palin win the election by 5 to 10 points.
She has no need to embellish her resume. She's more experienced than Obama is, so why embellish? Liberals are just on their knees praying for her to fuck up so all their attacks wont have been for nothing and the public wont call them out on their bullshit.
I hate to be the informer of bad news, but the constant attacks were a mistake and Obama will pay for that at the polls. People want change and are sick of politics as usual........and I find it downright hilarious that the opposition fits that mold more than the people who uttered it for a year straight.
Re: McCain picks Sarah Palin for Vice President
See James, the difference between Obama and Palin is Obama WANTS to change things. He's always said that, from day 1. He says he's seen how Washington works and wants to change how it does things. Whether or not this will be true remains to be seen, but as CC has stated he offers hope to people that maybe someone can change this country for the better. He inspires people.
Sarah Palin came down here, claiming she "changed" politics already, that she said "Thanks but no thanks" to earmarked spending, when in fact, she endorsed it. And the Senator who proposed the bill endorsed her in her Gov race. She NEVER said "No" until after the Senate turned the bill down. In fact, I read she had a road built that will lead to the bridge, even though it never will. Wasteful spending?? She's a myth, again the difference is Obama says he wants to change things. As i said before, Palin came in here, claiming she kicked ass & made these renegade changes, basically challenging those in the media to prove her wrong. So they did, and it's all unfounded baseless claims. And the media easily discovered it all.
It's like winning the lottery. If you or I won, for millions, the media would be like oh great, a fairly young, working Gnr fan ( ) won the lottery for $100 million. But if I go shooting my mouth off like "Yeah, I deserve to win, cause I'm great, and I deserve it more than anyone else, and if you can prove I'm not worthy of it, well you're wrong!!" The media would hound me & I'd look like a fool. It's all how you play it, you can put them on the offensive, or you can let sleepers lie. (no pun intended with the use of the word "Lie")
Re: McCain picks Sarah Palin for Vice President
Its all a house of cards though. He'll inspire people until his first budget gets sent in and people see there's no way to pay for all that bullshit. As long as World War III doesn't happen, he becomes a lame duck in his first year in office.
How's Obama gonna change things? Picking a guy who's been in Washington longer than I've been alive? His hard on for Carter era policies?
If she's a myth and its all been exposed, what are the liberals afraid of? Don't say they aren't afraid because they clearly are. You don't go way off message to attack people if you aren't afraid of something. If she was irrelevant, we'd be hearing the word change every nanosecond.

Re: McCain picks Sarah Palin for Vice President
I think the reason the liberals are on the attack (besides the fact that they ALWAYS ARE) is because they think Obama-Biden is a much better ticket for Washington. If another deficit-spender Republican like McCain is put in, the country may put itself decades away from balanced budgets and solid relationships with the rest of the world. McCain could win, with or without Palin, and the thought of him in the White House is scary. So liberals are doing anything they can because their time is now - and a failed run at the Presidency from Obama in 08 puts the party in great confusion in 12.
