That is amazing.  The only thing is that the process would probably only work for major tourist attractions.  Those are they only places that would have alot of pictures of all kinds taken of it.

The technology of it blows me away.  But it will only have a limited number of places / things it will work with.

Hundreds of photos from different angles structured to form a 3D perception of a tourist attraction. Haven't checked its progress in about 6 months but last I saw it looked amazing smile

It's similar to google maps street view Buzzsaw, but more insane. Seems like it grabs random pictures and combines them to form it's own interactive street view map. Crazy, but one of those things you see & it's probably the future.

Installing now. Will post impressions later. Thanks downliner.

Edit-

Impressions- Fantastic. Like others have said it's the kind of thing you look at and think this is the future. I reccomend that everyone installs this and then looks at this one in particular.

Axl S, here's another great video about Photosynth. It covers some different areas to the video you posted and shows how amazing the technology really is.

And if we rotate 37 degrees to the right, this is what her vagina looks like.

And if we rotate another 10 degrees, we will see the patch of hair that was missed during her Brazillian wax.  Looks like she's actually a red head.  16
