First review of Shacklers Revenge

http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/2 … Band-2/p1/

The final piece of 'unreportable' news is how the new Guns N' Roses track, 'Shackler's Revenge,' plays. We can say that the song has an interesting style that's quite unlike the previous GnR tunes, with a very industrial, Nine Inch Nails-type of vibe, though Axl does air out his trademark half-singing/half-shrieking pipes, so it should be a challenging track for vocalists.

This means it's only a matter of time before the song as it is on Rock Band leaks since the media is now hearing the track

I know this is already pretty common knowledge, but Shackler's Revenge is now confirmed as a "Nightmare" level song in Rock Band 2.

For vocals it's only a "solid" difficulty level...

For drumming it's only a "solid" level again.

And as a little side note, IGN mentions the song in their recent hands on with the game but...

Of course, the biggest addition is the 84 new songs. All it takes is a cursory glance of the full set list to see the upgrade in quality over RB1. No offense to the previous iteration's set list, but Rock Band 2 slaps it in the face and kicks it down a flight of stairs. The list looks incredible and I can assure you, it plays great. I know you want the scoop on the new Guns 'n Roses song, but unfortunately, we're under Axl lockdown over here. What I can say is that the rest of the set list is very solid.

For those who couldn't give 2 shits about the playing the actual RB2 game - how does the vocal portion play out in the game?  Do you have to hit certain predetermined notes at points or something?  Replicating the Axl screams seems like a pretty tall order.

It's pretty much just matching the pitch.

dude. so weird you say that.

when i first heard A3 -before the song was all over due to the sopranos- i seriously wondered if it was Axl doing something very, very random.

not so much in "Woke Up This Morning" as with a song called "Speed of the Sound of Loneliness" though.

Just noticed this and this goes with the theory about this being ripped straight from cd. In iTunes it says that this is the tenth song. every other leak there has't been a track number. Just thought I'd point that out.

and isn't it the tenth song to be leaked so far?

That "don't ever try to tell me" bit... is that a disco beat? I know he used something similar in OMG, way back when...

Re: "Chicken Dinner" Shackler's Revenge Leak

I think this song is absolutly amazing!!! Undecided on whether it's Shaklers Revenge or not though!

im almost 100% certain the solos are:

2:16-2:31-Buckethead

2:31-2:45-Bumblefoot

the first half sounds alot like Buckethead and the second half sounds like Bumblefoots thinmble so....

That type of beat is ripped directly from NIN imo. It's the sort of thing Josh Freese is playing these days, which is sort of ironic because it's probably Brain on the track.
