I normally don't do this kind of crap, especially since I own Kala on CD and LP, and also own every single she has ever released. Own several of those singles on vinyl as well. An extra dollar wont hurt, and her being so high on Itunes is definitely a pretty big deal.

Also, this makes MTV's nomination of Boyz even that much more bizarre. Even people who don't like MIA have heard Paper Planes. So pushing the album's 1st single was ridiculous.
Would love for this track to hit number one. It would give the album another big push. She needs it now, because Santogold is gonna explode next month when Lights Out is released as a single. Budweiser is even sponsoring her, and that tune is gonna get big.

Good to know she has her supporters. I do find it funny that casual listeners are more likely to buy it than her own hardcore fans. She has a strange fanbase.
Even if people don't particularly like her, she is innovative and a fresh face on the music scene, and certainly deserves real support. Supporting artists such as M.I.A. helps get rid of some of the chaff on the scene today. Being right behind Rhianna should make record companies a bit nervous. It shows them that people are sick of being force fed cookie cutter bullshit.

I'm afriad James that what they'll think is actually, "wow, imagine how great sales would be if we could make a more accessible, commercial MIA album and shoot some videos with hot back up dancers in them. Quick someone, corrupt her and steal her sense or artistic control! And for God's sake, somebody call Timbaland and Jay-Z, we need a team-up single now!".
Congrats to her I guess. It's her best song that I've heard even though I don't get her at all. Hopefully she stays strong.

Kala just shot up to 62 on the Billboard Top 200 charts.:mosh: For an album that had been out of the Top 200 just a few weeks ago, that's an amazing climb. Pretty obvious that her campaigning for Itunes chart position and Paper Planes being in that film are giving this album a new life.
That's a rare thing these days. Albums don't usually get a second wind.
Kala album sales are now at 250,555 copies sold.
