ANYTHING that Nolan or anyone else pulls from the Animated Series for the new franchise is a smart move.

The Animated Series was by far the most consistent, and solid Batman franchise. This new film franchise is starting to get up there.

I also think it's a fresh idea to bring in a totally different villian not seen in the films before. As long as it's not something like King Tut or The Clock King, lol.

But personal NO-ABSOLUTELY-NOT requests...

No Catwoman
--- I don't think Bale's Batman would work with a Catwoman. After events in TDK I think Bruce Wayne will become even more of a dark, reclusive, loner. Playboy will seem just stupid from this point forward. I don't see him even having a slight sexual attraction to a Catwoman type.

Poison Ivy - maybe
--- The good part about a Poison Ivy character is that Batman wouldn't have to worry about any kind of sexual tension. She's a villian he purely hates. That only problem with the Poison Ivy character is she's one of their more beyond belief characters. My thoughts have been to update the character. What about a global warming nut? Still plant loving, but global warming, enviroment nut Poison Ivy character? Who's willing to kill and commit crimes to get her point across.

No Robin for god fucking sake
--- This is not meant to offend anyone... but Robin fags the whole show up.

Speaking of Robin, Christian Bale said that if WB or anyone in the production tries to bring Robin into the equation, "I'm fucking walking." He hates the character as much as we do. LOL.

I read that as well.

On the subject of Box Office, I'll be interested to hear what the final numbers for the weekend were sometime this morning.

One timie, Chris Nolan (jokingly) said before that if he does bring Robin into his Batman series, he'll cast Frankie Muniz 16

I hate Burton's movies. Relentlessly boring. I watched the 89 Batman last night and god does it suck. Returns is unwatchable. Of those 4 films, Forever is the best.

But anyways, I think Riddler would be fantastic in Nolan's world - he could do some real plot twisting and tell the story in a different way, perhaps, so that he wouldn't need to 'top' TDK, it's just be really different. His work on Memento and Prestige show he can make a brilliant mindfuck of a movie, and The Riddler gives him a great shot at it.

If I could pick a one-two punch, assuming Harvey is dead, I'd go with Riddler and Deadshot.

No Robin please, no Penguin and no Catwoman.

Yep. I think it was like $155.3mil to be exact.

Biggest opening ever for any film in history. Surpassing "Spider Man 3" which grossed $151 mil last year.

Which is shocking in a way that TDK only got $4mil more. SM3 was okay, but compared to TDK... TDK makes SM3 look like a big steaming pile of monkey dung.

Re: The BATMAN Thread

Opening weekend gross has practically nothing to do with how good a movie is, so I don't get the shock that Spidey 3 was so high. This is purely hype money, good reviews help a little, but much more on following week gross. Can TDK keep from dropping more than 50% between weekends? That'll be a huge help if they can pull in another 70-80 mil.

Not spoiler heavy, but its not a good review and since some of the members(and guests) here may not have watched this yet and not interested in negativity clouding things, I'll go ahead and wrap it in a spoiler tag.

Uh, are me and my girlfriend the only people in the world not on crack?:haha: This film was unwatchable. Had I been alone, I would have walked out less than half way through. It just drones on and on with no end. By the time Two Face shows up, I was already praying to God for this movie to end.

One of the worst editing jobs in the history of film. It bounces back and forth all over the place, and my mind starts drifting and these characters never properly get established so I just don't care about any of them.

Bale doesn't work as Batman. His acting in the Batman character comes off as forced, and its unbelievable from the get go. Not knocking Bale as he is in some really good movies, but this role isn't suited for him.

Everyone is right on point about this Maggie chick. That constant smirk is annoying as hell, and she must give a mean blowjob or have an ass you can sink your teeth into, because those are the only ways she got this role.

Now, the Joker.....................

While I did like the more mature Joker brought to the table in this film, it doesn't live up to what it was presented as. The editing plays a role in this as well, not just pinning the blame on Ledger. Give us a more cohesive direction to follow with this character, and maybe I would give a shit. Giving me sixty seconds of the Joker, two minutes of Bruce Wayne, 30 seconds of Michael Caine's face, another minute of Wayne, then a 10 second clip of Maggie, then back to a minute of Joker is just amateur editing at its worst.

A 9.7 out of 10?? No fucking way in hell.

The few highlights for me....

The bank robbery segment
The Batmobile and then the later segment when he's on the motorcycle.
When Batman broke into that building to nab that Chinese dude
The jail scene with the Joker
The part where the Joker is burning all that money

The main plot point is a joke itself because the movie bounces around so much and so quickly, you begin to lose focus of what the actual goal is for each of these characters.

Film of the decade?

Performance of the decade?

Not even close.

One other thing.....

The extreme hype of this film wrote a check that the quality of the film couldn't cash.
