Joe Elliot has sadly went WAY down hill over the years. Unfortunately you have to lump Def Leppard into the argument to, because being he's their frontman... they go down the ship.
Elliot's voice just ain't there, he's lip synching now, and his ego gets larger and larger. At this point in his career, I suggest he start making more friends instead of enemies, otherwise he'll be destined for the next installment of The Surreal Life.

He might not be lip synching. But the hit and miss stuff is even more glaring, because of his continued extreme arrogance. When you start striking out at the plate, the good will to keep you around is not going to be there.
Axl Rose has also been hit and miss, but Axl doesn't go around running his mouth how he's better than everyone.
Like all of our mothers taught us... when you don't have anything nice to say - don't say nothin'.
