Re: What happend between 04-06
The first leak ever happened. Which was IRS in 2005.
Greatest Hits was released with some controversy.
GN'R were planned to play at Rock In Rio 2004.
That's about it.
Re: What happend between 04-06
right, buckethead left ( i believe) in 04.....BBF was appointed in 06
what happend in between?
2005 is mainly known for the infamous NYT article (sic?), and Merck's rebuttal.
The original IRS leak was in 2003, but brokenglass is correct about the shit quality version leaking. In a move that wasn't funny, it was leaked on April Fool's. I remember joking that the Pope leaked it on his death bed.

Re: What happend between 04-06
My theory is that when things go wrong, like bucket quitting the band, legal dilemmas, Axl takes a break from working on things to emotionally recuperate. Seems that there is quite often a burst of public activity for a year or more and then things go silent again for a period of time.
Re: What happend between 04-06
In 2004, Tommy released VGH and toured. 2004 was the year of "earth shattering, mind blowing, hair's breadth, shitting in buckets and launching pad " forever becoming part of any new Gnr's fan's dictionary. Needless to say, Mr Stinson has not discussed the record since...or Bucket for that matter.

Needless to say, Mr Stinson has not discussed the record since.
He did talk about Chinese Democracy back in 2005, though.
And I believe that he mentioned Buckethead as well.
Re: What happend between 04-06
2004/2005 whatever, he's been quiet for a few years now.
I know - and I'm sorry if it came across as some kind of nitpicking.
Either way, one really good thing came out of 2004 and that thing is spelled VillageGorillaHead.
It's one of my favorite records of all time, no matter how weird that might sound to some people.
