I strongly disagree, and me and you are basically on the same side of the fence  on this issue. Waiting periods are needed just for domestic violence alone. In the heat of the moment, someone will kill their spouse. The waiting period is essentially a "cooling off"period.

Yes I realize if you want someone dead you'll just stab them to death, but I don't think getting guns instantly should be encouraged.

When I bought a shotgun years ago, I had no problems waiting the two weeks.

A much better and safer alternative;) Buying guns from the back of a van.


So it's legal to own a gun if you reside in Chicago?? Just not to sell or buy one within city limits?!  Was that how it was in DC?  It seemed there you couldn't get one (by failing the background check) because your address was listed as a DC address. Am I correct?
