So I've had an ingrown toenail for about the past four months. I can usually get the nail before it gets to far into the side of the skin. But since I've gotten sober, I have no pain tolerance. Back when I used to drink, I could do damn near minor surgery on myself. So anyways, I let this thing go for like four months b/c I didnt have health insurance from my job until recently. It was really bad on the left side of the big toe, but the right side of it had also started to grow in. I went in today and had them fix it. I really thought they were going to have to take the nail completely off, but they just ended up cutting both sides of it off. They used medication to make it so that it never grows back. He said my toe wont look (too) disfigured, when it heals the skin will just grow right up to the new edge of the nail. Now onto my main point of this thread, after he had removed both sides, he showed them to me. The left side (worst) was amazing. i shit you not, it was about 1 and 1/2 inches long. It looked like a nail on a dogs paw. It was so disgusting. I had previously looked up ingrown toenails on the internet, and mine blew those away. I only wish I could have gotten a picture of it. :wtf:
It hurts so fucking bad right now. I almost cant stand it.

Ouch... Wish you had a pic, I can't imagine something that big.
Looks on the bright side Tommie, only a couple a weeks until the Birds go back to Training camp!!
Glad you're doing ok too.
EDIT: Ugghhhh just googled Ingrown Toenail.. I think I'm going to lose my dinner. :sick:

dude that happened to me once and it was so bad that the infection wouldnt go away and they wouldnt freeze it until the infection was gone....and it was turnign green and stuff...anyway i said fuck it and told the doc to just cut it out
no anesthetic....it fucking hurt like a bitch man...but when it was out it felt better almost immediately
but damn that was the most painful thing i;ve ever been though
now i'm extra careful whenever i trim my nails

yeah my wife (GF at the time) was with me.... had to show her how big of balls i have 
seriously though that was awful but i had to do something, my toe was turning green...i put some tongue depressors in my mouth to bite on...i snapped like all 4 at once from biting so hard
in-grown toenails suck ass

You could have just pulled down the pants to show her that you have big balls instead of getting a green, infected nail gauged out of your toe without painkiller like they did in the 1800's....LOL 
I don't know, I almost think child birth might be less painful then that......ALMOST!

I know what you mean. It was hands down the strongest prolonged pain I've ever felt.
It did feel better right away, but now that the numbness is wearing off, its really starting to hurt.
