I don't understand why holding powerful people accountable is bad...I also don't understand why Donald Trump has been allowed to behave like this for decades...

Donald Trump is a part of the problem, not the solution. And he insists on doubling down.

How on earth does anything Trump does help anyone or anything? HOW?!

You and I are aligned on this topic.  Trump has and always will be about himself and how much he can gain/rip off people for his own gain.  Did you read that Meadows flipped on him the other day and will testify in GA?  Donald Trump has been allowed to get away with stuff because he is famous.  He'll probably won't do much (if any) time.

And yeah, the GOP is part of the problem here.  If they didn't support him or give him power, then he'd go away (in politics at least).

I am so ready for Trump to go away, that said he was treated like shit from the get go. Like he is terrible, but it does not excuse all the bullshit lawsuits against him. “Over inflating self worth”? Who fucking cares at this point. All the loans are in good standing. Get him on real shit and that is bullshit.

There is no shot of any other pub candidate at this point.

Biden just had maybe his best week as president. So good for him. But the far left is ready to vote has ass out because he isn’t liberal enough.

A country of 350,000,000 folks and this is what we are stuck with.

About to have 2 major wars going

Debt out the ass. High interest rates just like 2007 (right before 2008).

Economy could break at any moment. It is all very scary.

I'm glad to hear you say that at the moment. Trump does need to go away.

I think the problem with the inflated self worth is that I don't believe any of us would be allowed to get away with that. You do make a good point about him being in good standing on his loans though. I guess you're saying no harm no foul? You say what you need to to get the loan and then do whatever you want with it as long as you make the payments? I'm not sure how I feel about that...I guess as long as you're not doing anything illegal, why should I care? It's proof though that we have no fucking standards for anything...maybe we never did.

The problem for Biden will be that so many people think a) his election was fraud OR b) he never would've gotten elected without COVID. I personally think that if Trump wasn't so bad, Biden wouldn't have even tried.

Trump did it all to himself. Everything! That's why I have no sympathy for him.

Trump means a big fat nothing. What has he ever done about anything? He's a mere diversion.

What ails us is that you can remove Trump but you are still left with Biden, Hillary, Marjorie, Nikki Haley and Ted Cruz. If the sight of such human beings is not enough to put a person beyond all hope I don't know what is. Seeing old clips of George Bush Jr. makes him look like a statesman in comparison. And he was the Donald Trump of his time.

Just imagine what things will be like in 10 years.

Are you saying that government is pointless or that these people are unfit to govern?

I'm not sure, I think about this a lot and I can never quite put my finger on it.

On the right I see people who claim to have christian values but act anything but christian, on the left I see people fighting against various causes by doing the very things they claim to be against.

None of it makes any sense to me. I feel like both sides would do better to steal-man position the other sides views, but instead the left says everyone on the right is an asshole and the right says everyone on the left is crazy.

It's time for views that are not so polarised.

Like maybe there is a compromise between socialism that has never really worked and killed millions, or ruthless capitalism devoid of any ethical framework that makes everyone struggle harder each year. Why must we have exclusively one or the other?

But yet everything gets more and more polarised. You have to either think that the solution to the gun issue is more guns or you have to think we should ban capitalism and all the things that made our society good in the first place. Fuck that. I want a compromise.

What ever happened to some common sense? What ever happened to a reasonable middle position in all this? Why does no one have any ethical restraint? Would it kill people to have a little more empathy?

Something is very wrong it seems.
