Re: Perhaps (2023) to Drop
You are officially not allowed to discuss that this even happened on the GNR Reddit. Someone on Mygnr got this message from a mod:
Message from mod:
“The track was not yet intended to release, regardless of this mistake by the distributors. The actions of the leakers and people who spread awareness of the accidental release directly affects what happens in the GN'R camp, in negative ways.
The PSA posted at the top of the subreddit was an attempt to keep bans at a minimum. Unfortunately, your actions do fall under what was warned against. However you received only a temporary ban because though it is rule-breaking behavior, it is obviously not done out ill-intent or maliciousness.”
This is the PSA they violated: PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Anybody who does not adhere to Rule 2 of this subreddit will get banned
This includes anybody who posts links, anybody who gives details on where to find leaks, anybody who spreads awareness of them, anybody who asks to DM files, or other such behavior. Consider this both a reminder and warning.
What a fucking joke. Rumor has it that during the 2019 leaks someone from the GNR camp was made a mod, not sure if they still are though.
Re: Perhaps (2023) to Drop
Wow. Like I said... flying blind.
. The actions of the leakers and people who spread awareness of the accidental release directly affects what happens in the GN'R camp, in negative ways.
Nobody leaked it. Incompetence led to an early release and as usual...looking to place the blame on the only people who give a shit about this.
Negative ways? 300 people listening to a song has zero impact on these supposed plans. You highlighting it is what makes it ten times worse!!!
The same old excuses we've heard year in and year out since Bush was president get really fucking old.
The PSA posted at the top of the subreddit was an attempt to keep bans at a minimum
Yep... just more of the same censorship shit.
You people suck all the joy out of anything the band does. It feels intentional.
Let Metallica or Trent Reznor plan your releases.
This has all turned cringe and embarrassing.
Thanks.
Re: Perhaps (2023) to Drop
Sigh. How can they be so tone deaf on this stuff? The leaks get people talking about your band and gives it free pub and generates interest in the product (and might lead to more ticket sales).
Instead they go with the usual response which will piss off a bunch of people.

What do you think of this posted on 4chan?
I work in the industry. Perhaps was supposed to be out today and Atlas scheduled for November. There were talks of getting The General in a movie soundtrack, but it looks like that fell apart too. Word is Axl pulled the plug to stick it to the studios with all the strike action thats going on, which has caused bad blood with the label and now Perhaps is up in the air.

Same thing got posted on the Reddit page a few days back. He posted a picture to go with as the cover art for Atlas.

It'll be nonsense.
Atlas would be listed on the database, if it was there would be more of a footprint on the Internet.
The movie soundtrack would have to track back to a personal conversation with Axl/Slash/Duff, management, or Sujata/Todd, and they do not talk. Being in the 'industry' gets you lite information on Perhaps and nothing more

I don't believe anything that would originate on that site.
There's nothing in the world Axl could do to "stick it to the studios". They would laugh...and then quickly move on.
This isn't 1991....they have no clout anymore.
