I just watched video from House of Blues 2001….Silkworms….hindsight it is fucking rocking. Again, all these songs got neutered…arghhhh
Long and short, my point is I like Silkworms more than Absurd, I like The Blues more than Street of Dreams, and I like Hardschool more than Hard Skool.
Not getting that album out in 2001 fucked us all….band members and fans.

The title track at HOB is incredible...short, sweet, and to the point.
I was fully onboard his "vision" after hearing that.
Fast forward 7 years...and listen to the album version.
Cluster fuck.
The Blues at Tokyo or Osaka was killer as well....years later they try to turn it into a goddamn REO Speedwagon ballad...which they do nothing with...so why even change it?!?
I should dust off a couple of those 2002 bootlegs...Boston and Tokyo/Osaka.

I think that songs peak is Rio...band is tight as hell and Bucket is in another world during the solo.

re-found the remix's today along with the bbf acoustic better, i'd forgotten that the acoustic version isn't actually mixed. the hard left right pan should make it easy to create stems so i can mix it to sound more natural.

Having heard the storage locker songs I am now more inclined than I ever was in the past to think the meet-and-greet packages would have been worth the money!

Just been down a bit of a rabbit hole watching some of the nu gnr concerts. Some of them were really good!
They play their songs way better than the covers you hear today. It’s not rocket science.

I always hated the intro from the title track that appeared on the album. It just seemed so pointless.
And thinking back on 2001, he should just said fuck it and debuted some of those other CD songs during those live performances. I think he underestimated how much interest there was in him and the band (even w/out Slash and Duff).
And really he should have copied the Velvet Revolver method of playing a few GNR songs and devoting the rest to material produced by the project/current musicians.

I always hated the intro from the title track that appeared on the album. It just seemed so pointless.
I like it on the album, but leaving it on the single version was madness – no radio station was going to play all that build-up. They should've cut a single edit that just opened with some guitar feedback and straight into the chords.
