I think to no one's surprise Josh Freese aka one of the best session and live drummers got the Foo Fighters gig.
Happy to see it.
Hope he's a permanent member too.

Happy for him, more people should be exposed to how good he is. They have all been listening to him for years anyway on all mannor of shit without even knowing.
Wonder if they asked Axl's opinion on the guy at all

The way they introduce him as the drummer at the start of that video is pretty funny
But man, as soon as they kick into their first song, you just know they made the right choice. Josh is a monster drummer who will compliment them so well, and already does so from that rehearsal footage alone.
I’m really happy they went with him.

Exactly. He is such a good choice. Has had a low profile, even though as you said he's drummed on everything.
Dude can also produce, and is a multi-instrumentalist.
