Yeah, it seems like he's the safe choice for them, but I wish they'd gone with Rufus Taylor; he really feels like the spiritual successor to Taylor Hawkins.

I'll disagree.
Taylor loved Queen, but Rufus ain't Roger. I don't really like nepo babies.
Freese is well known for his studio work, and I don't think he's that well known like who they could have gone with.
What I like about Josh, is he was a good friend of Taylor. He did those Wembley and LA shows with Taylor's setup to channel his energy.
And dude really is one of the best drummers in the world.
I'm glad they picked him.
You get a guy who is extremely talented, can write songs, and lyrics, and happens to be a damn good drummer.
