It's just more a case of thinking how random old re recorded material can be useful to the money making machine of touring. Think like a record company

During most of my early career, most of the revenue came from record sales and touring was done to support the record. Now, it’s flipped. If you manage to make any money at all it’s going to be from live shows and merchandise, and your record is one more piece of promo to support that.

Does the record company get a cut of the touring revenue? If not does this explain why fuck all is being released?
They get royalties and money from merchandise
I'm just guessing that the releases will just be used for a bit of publicity
