The culture wars just keep getting worse. This "Don't Say Gay" thing is bat shit crazy. How can there be two sides to this? Why would anyone want their 4-7 year old child being forced to learn about transgender, non-binary, and sex?

Like slashsfro pointed out, this is also being painted as you being homophobic/transphobic if you don't want your kids learning about it.

They're also freaking out over the term "grooming". Apparently you are transphobic if you use the term grooming. I must have missed that memo.

It must be so exhausting for the lunatic fringe to keep track of all the things that you can and can't say...the list constantly changes.

Mass shooting at a NY grocery store.

The way people are on social media when these events happen is mind boggling and shows in a nutshell what's wrong with our culture.

People had to figure out who he voted for before deciding how they should react to the shooting...and hours later people are still arguing on whether he was more "authoritarian left" or "national socialist right".

It makes me want to scream.

Edit

One example...

Let the dust settle. There is a high probability this guy voted for Bernie Sanders

Insanity.

This is beyond fucked up.  You know what 4-7 year old kids should be focused on?  Recess, napping, learning really basic stuff (like art, addition), watching Sesame Street/Dora, playing at recess, making new friends.  In short to enjoy the "innocence of childhood" before reality kicks in.  They have TONS of time to learn about sex, transgender that other stuff.  Which person realistically thought that 4-7 year old kids should be focusing on those issues is beyond me.

Oh, on that incident where the 3 kids were accused of sexual harrasement, where the hell was the teacher or the admin (guidance councelors etc) on this?  They could have easily defused this and maybe made it go away by just explaining that the kids didn't know or maybe were a little insensitive.  Seriously, what the hell do they pay these people at these schools to do?

Common sense is dead in this country.  Someone told me this weeks ago, and I sort of refused to believe this.   I lean left but some of this stuff is really indefensible at this point.

I think you’re all going overboard now…

I lived in Wisconsin for 24 years. I’ve now lived in Illinois almost as long. So what am i?  Am i always a Wisconsinite no matter where I’ve been or how long I’ve been there?

The major issue here is why on earth did this person become so indignant? The insistence of my perception being altered just because you say so is annoying.

This…amongst other things is why the Dems should get pummeled in November.

While i find these issues incredibly insignificant and i believe that far too much focus is put on such a tiny segment of society…it’s such an easy target. I don’t personally know any trans people and the ones i indirectly know are so preoccupied that they’re completely harmless.

The right has succeeded in making this a main issue and i just don’t give a shit. What motivates me more than anything is someone gaining political points by platforming exclusionary ideas and  policies.

The right is back to banning books, erasing new ideas and white washing history. The Dems are so incompetent that they allow this to be the winning message.

Wrong.

The left made it a main issue...the right simply covers the fallout while the left pretends there is no fallout.

Simple as that.

Are we ignoring the books the left have had banned? That they’ve started banning words?

When you make gender identity and the “anti-racism” grift part of the curriculum, you can’t blame the right for taking advantage of it. It didn’t just magically appear.

The left has to keep up with the right attracting it’s far right lunatics who otherwise wouldn’t vote if Trump is not in the ticket.

If by making it an issue you mean acknowledging their existence and cultivating them as voters then you are correct. However the Ben Shapiro, Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson’s played their roles flawlessly by using the trans community as a punching bag and feeding that content to an already rabid base.

I have no idea what you’re saying.

The left amplified the craziness of some trans activists and made it their platform. They brought this on themselves. It’s not republicans or right wing talk show hosts, it’s parents saying you’re not teaching this shit to my kids, and the left saying, “oh yes we are.”
