Rolling Stones - No Huge, Iconic albums?!?

I just checked....I have 27 Beatles songs on my computer.

I was never a huge fan. I prefer the later stuff...

Get Back (my favorite Beatles song)
The Ballad of John and Yoko
Helter Skelter
Back in the USSR
Revolution

Out of that earlier stuff....

Day Tripper
Twist and Shout
I Saw Her Standing There
Yesterday
A Hard Day's Night

Some other good songs but that's all I really need.

While The Beatles may get the credit for starting it all and considered the best band ever, the Stones mop the floor with them IMO. It's not even close.

Even if you just compare only the 60s material to make it fair....Stones still win the battle.

I’ve always said one is either a Beatles or Stones fan, you can enjoy both, but truly only get one. I’m with you, the Stones are the greatest band of all time, and their music is pure rock n’ roll.

I’ll take McCartney and Wings any day over the Beatles.

I noticed everyone mentioning Sticky Fingers. I hope everyone here has that deluxe edition that came out in 2012. It includes a version of the album that is all alternate versions. It's the only one I listen to now.

I love both but if I had to choose my 4 favorite Stones albums vs my 4 favorite Beatles albums, I’m going with the Stones.

Discovered this song on the radio about 10 years ago. It's been tossed aside as 'album filler', as it's 'the long song' opposite Sympathy For The Devil, kindof a Dylan-esque attempt which, is pretty good. Goes to show you a band like RS can have this song completely buried & unheard of anymore.

Monkey Man anyone? I also love Jigsaw Puzzle. My favorite era of The Rolling Stones was when Mick Taylor was their lead guitarist. I like the Hyde Park '69 and Altamont version of Sympathy for the Devil.

Wow, thanks for posting. Didn't know they ever covered it. Great cover, pretty obscure Stones song for them to choose, although, I'd think they were big fans.

She's So Cold is such a barn burner.

That's one of my favourite tracks.

Then I'd say: Shine A Light, She Smiled Sweetly, I Am Waiting, Coming Down Again, and Play with Fire.

I realize the ones just above aren't that hard hitting. But, yeah.

Stones have some good deep cuts. I forgot one that was on Tattoo You or Emotional Rescue that I really like as well.
