They had 7,200 cops at their disposal in DC and were offered another 7,000 more national guard. And you think it was trump that held up the national guard that was already offered? The head of Capitol police was fired. They have extreme access to resources. Now you claim it is Trump that personally runs security for the Capitol. Glad the NG showed up but they should have been there the whole time and never let anyone in the Capitol.
Democracy prevailed. The votes were counted. In 11 says Biden will be president. Breathe. The sun will rise tomorrow and Home and Change to Build Back Better is on the way.
I never said Trump personally runs security for the Capitol. I said he initially balked at sending them in...which is true. The secretary of defense and Pence had to do it.
It doesn't matter if the mayor only called in the ice cream man....it doesn't change anything I said.
I can't be "wrong again" when I wasn't even wrong the first time.
There's little doubt that some of the cops were hardcore Trumpers. Again...this changes nothing. It just reinforces how serious this was yet you're using it to somehow down play it.
This desire to absolve Trump of any responsibility for this fiasco has failed. People with brains are taking charge and Trump's own base is crumbling as we speak.
Trump went from begging the loons to March to the Capitol (with him) to him publicly condemning those who listened.
He cares nothing about his followers. Once you're used, you're spit out.
Five people died in this madness. Any tributes to the dead? Did he applaud the "patriotism" of the woman who literally died on the altar of Trumpism?
Nope.
She was no longer any use to him.
The moment he condemned their actions, the loons still hanging on said she was an Antifa crisis actor and a disgrace.
Eating each other in the name of Donald Trump is the last gasps of Trumpism...and we're in the early stages of it right now.

The country was on a good path until Covid. Trump was shit for presentation and all that but a lot of good shit got done under his watch and not new stupid ass wars. Cleaned up that Isis shit in about 2 weeks. Withdrawing troops. All in all a good run.

Very few would deny he was likely on his way to reelection before Covid hit....and yes, I do give him credit for not getting us into any new wars although Mattis gets a portion of this credit. Trump wanted to bomb Venezuela until Mattis told him we weren't doing that.
He never should've politicized the virus. It destroyed his presidency.
